Fine Home Design

My house was built in 1923. It has three floors: basement, main floor and partly finished upstairs. The focus of the remodel project was the main floor. I very pleased with all the work Leigh Johnson did on my house. The house was bought in 1987. It is a very comfortable house but the bathroom is too small and after several years it became very cluttered. Leigh Johnson visited me at my home and saw I needed help to clear the clutter and suggested many very helpful design changes. He: --redesigned the interior of the house and creatively kept the twenties theme of the house --drew professional drawings of the required changes --creatively made a larger bath by removing the interior walls of two closets that were next to old bath --made a walk-in closet out of the not well used porch --designed and constructed custom cabinets for the bathroom and built a custom cabinet for my computer --did most of the reconstruction himself --hired subcontractors: plumbing, electrical, kitchen flooring, ceramic tile and wood floor refinishing --coordinated subcontractors work and saw all work was inspected by Minneapolis building inspectors --followed my instructions and took the lead making the major design/construction decisions --did excellent quality work throughout the whole project --he was responsive to my needs, punctual, and very profession through the project

Leigh worked with me when I moved from an antique colonial cape to a large center chimney Federal circa 1780. He drew up a design to finish out some required work on the cape for stairs and cabinets. When I bought the Federal he walked through the home and prepared a plan of attack for making the house more livable for the twenty-first century without destroying the beauty and authentic character of the home. Leigh is able to design for many styles of home in a way that brings out the best of the existing building while providing for the needs of a modern home owner. His work is done professionally and timely. I would not hesitate to work with him again.
