Founded in 1910, our original business revolved around constructing and repairing barns and farm buildings for local families. As Naperville expanded and subdivisions began to be developed, three of Charles' sons joined the business and together, in addition to remodeling work, they began building quality homes for the ever expanding town. Today, as an established full-service remodeling firm, Shiffler Builders works closely with architects and reliable, carefully selected subcontractors, who help us insure that your project, large or small, is completed with pride and in a professional manner. Today, Steve Shiffler and his son Eric, carry on the legacy as the fourth and fifth generation builders. My husband and I have used Shiffler Builders for all of our remodeling; a major addition, kitchen gut job, children’s bathroom expansion (3 girls), porch renovation, palladium window installation and most recently a master bathroom renovation which changed the floor plan of the bedroom AND a powder room update. We have never, (strong word) never been disappointed. He is great to bounce ideas around with and, small point but important; he treats each spouse equally and inclusively. There is always something in the project that is a standout idea. His lead carpenter Marc Sauer is a joy to have around. He’s competent, a stickler for detail, great with a vacuum and quite funny. I never worry coming or going from the job. The whole group is as trustworthy as they come.

An errant grandchild with a black crayon was the stimulus for rethinking what we wanted our family room to look like and function. I contacted Steve Shiffler for his help and jointly decided we would remove the stained carpet altogether and lay hardwood floors. He sent me to his supplier to make the selection and this subcontractor completed that part of the job in one day. Steve's employees then mounted the television above the fireplace and rerouted all the wiring. We love the new look and are very satisfied. We have used Shiffler Builders for ALL of our home improvement projects, large and small, for the last 30+ years. A year ago, we also had Shiffler renovate two of our bathrooms, down the studs. They both look fantastic. I have always appreciated the friendly, professional team of carpenters that Shiffler employs and the great results they achieve.

Over the years, Shiffler Builders has remodeled 2 bathrooms, rebuilt a staircase and recently remodeled our 3 (now 4!) season porch. The craftsmanship of his employees is excellent, and we have been extremely happy with every project they have done for us. There is no one else that I would ever consider hiring for future projects. The project involved some serious plumbing and Steve's contractor was able to handle the old-style pipes in our 50+ year old home. They are a joy to work with -- always on time and they clean up!!
