I am very happy with my experience with Shawn. Shawn went above and beyond to work with me. Sooooo much easier than buying individual pieces of furniture and guessing if they go together.

Shaun and team did a complete make over to a new 3,000 sq ft condo we purchased, including 100% new furniture and decor. We couldn't be happier. The design is unique, upscale and perfect on many levels. She helped coordinate other subcontractors and made the entire project stress free. She was a pleasure to work with.

Shawn was extremely helpful in the decorating and design plans for my new kitchen. She listened to my needs and decorated with my taste in mind.

I’ve also seen when she has been very patient when I’ve moved slower because of my schedule. She has people for everything regardless of where you live, she is super connected. She introduced me to a GM for my work and he is fabulous. Lastly she is so much fun to work with. I highly recommend Shawn.

Helped me with new house - exterior colors and interior design. Helped my husband and me to converge/compromise (no small task). Also helped us avoid some big mistakes. My house is still under construction but I'm feeling really comfortable with where we are headed.

We started with a small project to redo our half bath off the kitchen. Great design, loved the new wall color and curtain fabric, new granite counter, faucet and sink. The best part was a new woven fabric door to cover the washer and dryer area. No more battle of the bathroom door, old bifold door and washer door. Thank you Shawn for a great design. I look forward to upcoming projects.

I hired this interior design firm to assist me with choosing colors, fabrics and furniture for my master bedroom and sitting area. I wanted to create a space that was inviting, warm and relaxing. They helped me with just that and I absolutely love my master suite, sitting area and walk in closet! It is literally a relaxing and inviting haven! A short while later, I was ready to select a rug for my dining area and I had looked at hundreds of samples. In one meeting, we were able to select a handsome rug and my dining room is absolutely gorgeous. The rug tied everything together and I have received many compliments. Recently, I had asked for their assistance on choosing a living room rug to finish my living room design. The room has looked unfinished for quite some time. We selected an amazing rug and the rooms all tie together, look elegant and I am more than pleased with the assistance, professionalism and kindness that Decorating Den has provided to me. They are incredibly talented and lovely people!!

Before we began our project Shawn took the time to get to know us, our style/vision and most importantly our budget. Her recommendations were based on these discussions. Shawn and the Strok Design Team of Decorating Den Interiors are outstanding. They completely transformed our office lobby, reception and conference room area. They have wonderful ideas for colors, design and functionality that can fit any budget. I would highly recommend Shawn Strok and her design team to anyone.

BEWARE and don't be fooled - these aren't designers - they are catalog salesmen! If you have a simple room and want to pay a premium for someone to find fabrics and colors that work together from their catalogs, they can definitely do that BUT if you actually need help with layout, design or have specific desires that don't fit the cookie-cutter options offered by their vendors, forget it. They repeatedly tried to sell me a rug size that was too big for the room even after I proved to them that it would over-hang into both the fireplace hearth (a fire hazard which they wrote off with "how often do you really use the fireplace") and, on the other side, into a main hallway. When I asked about a smaller (8x10) rug that would fit the space without those issues, they told me that 8x10 wasn't a standard rug size (it is) and that it would have to be 9x11 or 6x9 (because that's what their vendors sell) and put the hard sell on about how sure they were this was "the perfect" rug for the room - so much so that I almost ordered it anyway until I came to my senses after they left and cancelled the order - and then, after that, they refused to even answer when I sent them a picture of an 8x10 rug I found on my own about whether it would match the rest of the stuff I'd ordered from them. They tried to sell me a coffee table and end table that were clearly too big for the space (again, I had to borrow their tape measure and prove it to them) and they never bothered to actually do a scale drawing to ensure that what they were trying to sell me actually fit in the space (even though when I asked if the drawing they brought was "to scale" they said yes - it wasn't). They told me the sofa I wanted (large, tight back, two bottom cushions) didn't exist and, when a quick internet search proved what I wanted did, indeed, exist and from a reputable company (Mitchell Gold Bob Williams), they tried to convince me to instead buy a three bottom cushion sofa with no less than eight back pillows on it and even showed me the catalog/website with the "available options" showing that it was the closest choice their vendors carried that fit what I wanted, proving that it wasn't a design issue but merely that they would not discuss the design of or incorporate anything they couldn't provide from their own vendors (which was limited to the same blah choices you can find ANYWHERE). When I again questioned it (after a very hard sell that I almost fell for) they tried to convince me that all those cushions would hold up better over time (if you have pets like I do, you know what they do to back suchions and I had already showed the designer the wear on my current three cushion sofa in exactly the spot that would be avoided by switching to a two cushion model based on my family's use of the sofa). They sold me on a table lamp they said was "perfect for the space" but, suddenly, when that lamp was back-ordered, they told me a much larger lamp (at twice the price) was needed for the space. They never even addressed any of the concerns I had about placement of pictures/mirrors or in doing any design work that didn't directly involve buying new items they could make commission off of with the exception of choosing paint colors. They didn't even suggest any changes to the existing layout of the room - just tried to sell me replacements for my current furniture. I highly suggest finding a designer that charges for their time and will work to find what best works for your space or use the free design services offered by retailers - at least with them you know what you're signing up for. I should have paid a lot more attention to their business model before signing up with them.

Shawn did an amazing job with design of my kitchen renovation. We asked her to help build a custom office with complete build-out of room. Shawn managed the project and designed lighting, cabinets and décor. It was perfect.
