Steve Eccher Design & Planning

This was my second project with Steve and his staff, and they were great Both times. Once again Steve helped me navigate a lengthy and complicated city planning process, something he excels at, and we couldn't be happier with the finished project. We call it the garage, but it has a second story 2 bedroom apartment, a laundry, and a 900 sq foot basement in downtown Durango. The scale of the project, while ambitious, was very appropriate for the neighborhood design, and fits with our more modern aesthetic. Working with Steve is always a pleasure, I highly recommend him.

Steve and his entire staff are great to work with. This project was a commmercial building with some extenuating circumstances that didn't fit neatly into city ordinaces. It was pivotal to have Steve's help during the planning process with the city government. Being a client that is very particular about what I want, Steve was extremely patient and accommodating with my design ideas and many changes. We are extremely happy with the finished product. Steve has an amazing sense of scale. The restaurant feels much larger than it is. I highly recommend him. We hired Steve to design a second level to our one level home. Steve and his team did an amazing job! We were given several beautiful options to choose from and the end result is seamless. Whether you are looking at the house from the inside or out, you can't tell our second story wasn't part of the original house. We appreciate Steve spending extra time with us to make sure everything was perfect. We wouldn't change a thing!

My wife and I engaged Steve to design our dream house and were very pleased with the service he provided. He listened to our ideas and worked with us to create a stunning yet practical home. He cooperated and guided our contractor and other subs so they functioned as an effective team. As with every custom home there are unforeseen issues that arise, but Steve was responsive and creative at resolving everything effectively. During the construction process Steve visited the site multiple times and worked well with my contractor to ensure a first-rate final product. I am very pleased with the result, which achieved my goals of increasing the interior functionality, building a new garage, and having the entire project integrate well with the neighborhood and my needs and wants.

Steve and his team were hired in 2010 to design a house for me. I had compiled a floor plan, elevation, deck layout and garage layout, and they worked with me to turn my ideas into a build-able set of plans. The project was bid out to various local contractors, and a contractor was selected. With the effort that SCE put into the drawing, the build was almost seamless. I feel I saved $1,000s in contractor change notices by using SCE Design, having a buildable set of plans.

Steve Eccher and his team were wonderful to work with, and handled our complicated renovation of a Victorian home deftly. They were sensitive to the historic nature of the home, open to our ideas and vision, and flexible as circumstances evolved. They were responsive to our questions and concerns, and worked within our budget. We couldn't be happier with the result and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

SCE Design is an extremely talanted and creative architectural firm. They have won top awards in the annual Parade of Homes. SCE knows how to listen, are committed to their clients and helps to create a positive experience for all. SCE designs are cutting edge. I was impressed with the ability to create in depth and detailed Lighting design and Kitchen and Bath design. SCE exteriors and interiors are always gorgeous!

Steve and his staff always go that extra mile with all his clients. They have tremendous pride in what they do and it comes through with every exquisite detail on their impeccable projects. No stone goes unturned. SCE Design is a very professional organization and a joy for us to work with!
