Owner, Scott Brekke, has over 20+ years in the construction residential industry. His passion for home building and remodeling started when he was just a teenager learning the skills of the trade alongside his father who still owns and operates a successful construction business in southern Minnesota. Scott went on to college and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and Design, from Minnesota State University of Mankato and was excited to be doing what he loved. Scott is an entrepreneur at heart and has owned his own company since 2004. Being skilled in many facets of the processes of home building and remodeling, we believe, gives him a unique edge above the rest. Being able to draw on his skills in the actual building process and management of homes and remodeling allows him to verify his designs through that knowledge base giving added assurance to the technical success of his design plans. His real passion is to help clients get the plans they want that fits their needs and budget. And he is excited about meeting new people, making connections and being of service to his clients in any part of the design process that he can.

If you're looking for an architect to design a custom home, I highly recommend Scott Brekke with Alpha Home Design home. My husband and I wanted to build a custom home and Scott was very patient and very informative in the process and he was able to get our completed plans to us in a timely manner. Scott was able to bring our vision to life and gave us helpful tips with our options and designed a beautiful home. Due to the high interest rates, we had to put our construction plans on hold or downsize our plans. I reached back out to Scott to see if a modification to our plans was possible but with the type of plan we had, we would have to do a new floor plan, but Scott was very helpful in trying to find a floor plan that would work for us, but we decided to wait a while until interest rates are better because we absolutely love the original plan he designed and wants that to be our forever home. You will not be disappointed in hiring Scott for your custom home design.

Scott helped us design a new garage and over-garage bonus room. He was very easy to communicate with and worked well with us to provide us with exactly what we described to him. He was very knowledgeable about city/local requirements. His blend of in-person and web-based job meetings were an excellent way to save time and keep on track. During the construction phase he was very accessible and helpful to both us and our builder. I would definitely utilize his services again if ever needed!

We hired Scott after transitioning over from another designer and given a short turn around time was able to quickly and efficiently design our home perfectly suited to the Low Country. We were able to give Scott a variety of ideas and he was able to efficiently determine what was feasible, functional and aethestically pleasing. His communications were quick and he was able to design over Zoom on several occasions as well as provide 3D internal views. His was able to develop the complete drawing package for our strict ARB on Johns Island and were able to pass initial and final without any issues. You shouldn't hesitate to hire Scott for any project here in the Charleston region.

Scott designed the plans for a huge renovation and addition on our Edisto Island home and we couldn't have been happier with the process. He's friendly, on time, responsive, and communication is a breeze. We also really appreciated his practical and logical approach which ended up saving us a lot of money and gave us an even better design than what we had in mind. We'd choose his services again in a heart beat.

Scott was very thorough and presented good ideas. We gave him our initial plans and he worked diligently to give us what we wanted and designed a beautiful easy flowing floor plan.

Scott helped me with a barn conversion. He was on top of issues we could have early, making sure drawings covered issue we could have addressed. He was very attentive to our wants as well as making sure it was structurally correct. Scott was very good about drawings being done in a timely fashion, I caused more problems with time than he did. This was the second set of drawings for a house Scott has made for me and if I need anything else in the future he will be my first contact.
