Our Mission: This past fall marks our 37th anniversary! While our products have changed over the years, the essence of our company
 mission remains the same: to provide functional product that enhances the user’s experience. Our housewares products are designed to bake incredible breads and pizzas, while our kids products inspire learning, creativity, and fun! Of course, great product isn’t meaningful without stellar customer service. We try our best to provide great customer service each and every day. Safety: Our products are tested by U.S.-certified laboratories to ensure that they comply with all national regulations under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, particularly with regard to ASTM F963-11 for children’s products, and California Proposition 65 governing toxins, phthalates and the mechanical safety of the products we market to kids. Many of our inks and paints used in silk-screening and printing are vegetable-based, meeting the WEEE and RoHS standards set forth by China in 2007, eliminating harmful lead and chromium 
ingredients. For those products that come into contact with food, our products are tested against those guidelines set forth by the FDA. Certificates of Conformity are available upon request. Green Initiatives: Sassafras is committed to marketing products that are produced in an environmentally-sound manner and conducting our operations to minimize our carbon 
footprint. In many cases, we use packaging that can be reused to store our product once bought by the consumer. We are using paper that is either recycled or recyclable and have minimized our use of paper. We have also joined the “reuse the box” initiative to ship our product, when possible, in used boxes that are in good condition. In our office, we have converted to energy-efficient, compact florescent light bulbs and set our thermostats at a comfortable 68-70 degrees in winter. We strongly believe that, by taking collective action to reduce our carbon footprint, that we can make a major impact on the betterment of the world.
