I had interviewed many interior designers to help me create my home office prior to speaking with Marcy. When I first spoke with her on the phone and she explained her concept of "Design Therapy", I thought it was a fantastic idea and just what I needed. I loved that I could tell that she really just wanted to help me design an office that I would feel comfortable in and enjoy. Marcy stood out to me as it was very apparent that she was not trying to push me to do things I did not want to do (while still making meaningful suggestions that actually made me look at things differently than I originally did). The fact that she really will do as little or as much as you want is such a welcoming idea and of course once I started working with her I kept asking her to do more to help me in my home office and will probably have her do my whole house!! It is also great that she obviously has a ton of contacts since she has been doing this for so long and "has a guy" for every project we took on. You can tell she loves what she does and has a way of making you comfortable and make home decorating (which i find to be overwhelming) actually a fun experience! I am so happy I found Marcy with Romancing the Home!! She is amazing!! I had been looking around at different design services, and one day I passed her car advertising Romancing the Home. I was intrigued by the name and gave her a call. I was so glad I did! She is priced just right, and the services she provides are unmatched. I had originally scheduled her for a design therapy session for my living room, but that time can be used however you want once you are with her. I ended up asking for her advice about a possible kitchen update we were considering. She took us in a totally different direction, for the better! We thought we were going to change our floors and backsplash, but she made us understand why it would be a better outcome if we invested in changing our countertops instead of our floor. I never thought I would spend money on new countertops, but it made sense once she explained it! She met us at the tile store to help us in our selection. I am so glad she joined us - I was so wrong with what color scheme we needed to match our existing cabinets and floors. The stores all know her well, sing her praises and love working with her. We just finished that project and we love it!! We are currently working together on our original project - the Living Room. She is readily available throughout the journey. I will not buy a piece of furniture without her stamp of approval! Lol! Marcy is so kind and thoughtful. We love Marcy. Marcy has done all of the window treatments in our home and we still have more to do. She has also done design therapy sessions with us to help us lay out home furnishings and gave us great ideas for using our space. Marcy has recommended great contractors for other work we had done on the house and is my go-to person for any project we have. The only thing that stopped our apartment from feeling like the home we always wanted was the kitchen. We asked Marcy Sacks of Romancing the Home Interiors to help us with the kitchen renovation and it was the best decision we made. We couldn’t be happier with the way the kitchen turned out and couldn’t imagine going through this process on our own. LIFE SAVER! Marcy (the owner) was an amazing find right from the start. She knows how to listen to the customer. I will be the first to admit I am no easy person to work with. I like things done a certain way and she told me to bring it on!! She was not afraid...lol. She did a great job of listening and helping me organize my thoughts into an action plan. Very happy so far with all her ideas for my home makeover. And you do not have to be scared to disagree with her. She listens and comes back with more ideas if you do not like something. We met Marcy at the Nyack home show last year. After sitting with my husband and me, she got a feeling for our taste and was able to guide, not push, us to beyond our comfort level. More then just a decorator, she helped us deal with our contractor and his Subs using her knowledge and experience. Our only regret is that we didn't meet her earlier. We could not be happier with the outcome.
