Rose + George Design Studio

Kristen came highly recommended and worked with me recently to come up with a design concept for the downstairs of my house, which included sourcing specific pieces of furniture. I felt overwhelmed with the vast amount of choice (for everything!) out there and knew I needed some expert advice. As you have choices within the design concepts that Kristen puts together, you are able to also pick and mix different pieces to achieve the look you want. Kristen enabled me to be bolder with some paint colours and as I trusted her judgement, I went ahead with some of her suggestions and I'm so pleased I did. Kristen is an expert in sourcing lovely pieces of furniture and accessories which are both stylish and very practical. This has been an aspect I've particularly appreciated. Kristen sourced a beautiful old, wooden table, new chairs and a bench (and artwork) for my kitchen which has created a lovely stylish but totally practical focal point and dining area for family meals, which I love.

We worked with Kristen for over a year on the full refurb of our Victorian house. She was a joy to work with being both creative but also fiercely organised (which was invaluable when your to do list stretches to pages). Thanks also to Megan for doing a wonderful job.

Harriet and Kristen are a dream to work with. I called on them to help me with colour consultancy to repaint our home. Squeezing me into their packed schedule at the last minute, in an hour they’d come up with a fabulous pallet that I could easily translate throughout the house, topped off with an inspiration board and a range of additional ideas I would never have come up with myself. Their beautiful sense of style and eye for practical details saved me hours of legwork and gave me the confidence to make some choices I would never have done otherwise. The end result is stunning! An absolute top team.

We bought our house in October 2015 and moved in immediately. It was desperately old, tired, tasteless and in need of a lot of love. I found myself quite overwhelmed at how or where to even begin with updating it and creating a home where we were proud to have people over as well as loving living in it ourselves every single day. We also did not have a large budget having spent all our money on the house purchase itself. We decided to reach out to Rose + George for help, initially with the idea of just doing the bathroom through them, but we ended up giving 70% of the house a makeover! Bathroom, kitchen, flooring, walls and lighting throughout the property got a major overhaul. Once we started working with them we just couldn't let them go. They made the whole process so enjoyable and pain free; they are approachable, easy to work with, they have exquisite taste and clever ideas, but would never push anything on you. Whenever we were unsure about something they let us go off and research alternatives, but every time we came back to their original suggestion because they are always right and they know exactly what they are doing. Between them they have so much experience and they have done up the most beautiful houses, a lot of their suggestions on colours etc they had used in their own homes so they believe passionately in what they are recommending. They encouraged us to be bold and we could not be happier with the results. I don't really remember briefing them on what we wanted, probably because I couldn't quite put it into words and wasn't even sure myself, but they totally got it and they bought our dream to life! They are both wonderfully talented and professional, but very modest, understated and incredibly understanding. They will help cut corners and costs at any opportunity, but yet the design, finish and workmanship that we have ended up with is of the highest quality. Kristen and Harriet are simply a joy to work with, we have had so many compliments on our house and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

We hired Harriet and Kristen at Rose + George Design to plan, design and manage our house renovation. They have been amazing taking the stress out of it for us, updating us weekly (at least), sourcing everything we need and dealing with the builders. It was our first experience of using an interior designer and they have exceeded our expectations. Costs were clearly laid out at the start, along with payment schedules so we can keep track. They check with the builder what has been done and we pay accordingly. The finish of the work is excellent. Both have a great eye for detail and worked with the builders to ensure all the finishing touches. Overall, we are very happy with the service they have provided and I'm sure we'll be using them again once we've saved up enough money to do the last remaining rooms!
