Robie Wentworth

Robie was our general contractor for a major house renovation. He did an excellent job overseeing the construction from beginning to end in addition to designing & building numerous custom installations. These included cabinets, shelving, a mantel/cabinet combination, a loft area (with ladder), kitchen pantry and a beautiful frame around sliding doors and transom windows. Robie's woodwork is without flaw and consistently lovely. We enjoyed working with Robie. He was professional, prompt, courteous, sensitive to our needs and fun to interact with. We highly recommend!

The job was exceptionally executed. He showed up on time as promised. He worked until he was 100 percent done. His workmanship was superb.

I was lucky enough to have my home builder in Falmouth, Maine choose Robie to build 2 large bookcase's for my new house - one in the living room & one in the mancave. His work significantly exceeded the quality of all the other woodwork done, some of whose quality had already impressed me. I actually felt bad he was just doing my bookcases given the talent and knowledge he demonstrated to me. I gave Robie a rough drawing of what I would like & he came up with my dream bookcase's with complimented my entertainment system & gave me all flexibility I needed. His attention to detail, precise work & artisan style shines through. I'm happy to have found him & will undoubtedly use him again on a more challenging project.

Creative process & collaboration: Robie has a pleasant and easy-going personality and knew when to jump in with suggestions. He had examples of past work as reference points and was also able to replicate a barn wood table from images found online. He used software to generate detailed images of ski lockers so that we could fine-tune the design and dimensions before building. As a wood craftsman, Robie was able to offer advice on finishes to other woodworkers on the job. Finish quality: Outstanding craftsmanship. Robie is clearly a perfectionist, with an eye for every detail but also has an artistic flair – it’s a really great balance. It’s great fun working with a craftsman who loves and knows his medium. For one of our projects Robie sourced reclaimed barn wood as well as a live-edge slab and created a terrific one-of-a-kind bar table for a gameroom. Customer satisfaction & professionalism: It’s clear that customer satisfaction is a priority for Robie. He was quick to responds to our texts, and a likable and articulate communicator with a can-do attitude – a joy to work with! We’ve built several homes for/with extended family over the last ten years – wish we had Robie on every job! He was fantastic to work with on every level and we will gladly work with him again! We had the pleasure of hiring Robie last year to help us build some custom book shelves for our living room. We knew this build would be very important, as we spend a lot of time in this room, so finding the right craftsman was key! Robie not only built our beautiful custom cabinets but was also extremely helpful in the process leading up to everything being installed. He took our ideas of what we wanted and gave us options and a few sketches to help us visualize better before choosing a plan of attack. Including what sort of mantel we wanted, style of cabinets, and trim/moulding. Having such a successful project, we will definitely be hiring robie back in the future!

Robie is a talented carpenter and woodworker, and I see the potential for a very bright future. He can manage a job, and manage a crew. He has a good eye for detail, a good imagination and is a good problem solver. I have been able to trust him with bringing a concept to fruition, while working out a lot of the details by himself, even when I was 250 miles away. I am moving forward on a second phase of the project he handled for us and am comfortable with Robie in the General Contracting role, running the job. I give him high marks and a two thumbs up recommendation.

Robie built an intricate set of spiral stairs inside my timberframe barn from his own handmade treads. Before beginning construction Robie drew up renderings on the computer and made sure the stairs were exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed with his application of technology and his use of modern woodworking tools. I would hire Robie again for any detail oriented work in my home that required real craftsmanship. Robie was trustworthy, professional, and completed the project in the timeframe he promised for the price he guaranteed.

Robie re did our kitchen and bathroom. He was very easy to work with. We love the way both rooms came out. It is a wonderful addition to our home. In our bathroom, Robie designed and built a cherry vanity for us. It is a wonderful piece of furniture. It almost seems a shame that it is in the bathroom, as it certainly deserves a more prominent location in our home. I would not hesitate to hire Robbie again.
