Ridgefield Flooring in Crystal Lake IL replaced all of the existing tile, carpet and wood in our home with a vinyl plank floor. They demo'd the existing, repaired and levelled surfaces, installed the new floor and reinstalled all of the trim. We are very happy with the process and the result. Their office and crews were terrific in all regards. Especially Tim, Chris, and Jamie. We made the right choice!

After two years in our condo in Chicago, my husband and I decided that we needed to refinish our hardwood floors as well as rip out the carpet and install new hardwood in two bedrooms. We chose to go with Ridgefield Flooring out of Crystal Lake, and we are thrilled that we did. From start to finish, everyone we came in contact with handled our case with the utmost professionalism; they were punctual, kept the space clean, and were helpful when it came to picking a stain color. The craftsmanship that Ridgefield put into our home flooring project is one-of-a-kind; our friends and family can not believe how seamless the transition from the existing hardwood to the new flooring in our office and bedroom is. We keep asking ourselves why we did not do this sooner; the transformation of our space is unbelievable. Thank you Ridgefield Flooring for taking the time to do the job right, transforming our space, and making this project an easy one for us!

I had a terrible experience with this contractor. They were not on time, left the job without completing the days work and did not finish on the day and time that they promised. I was told at noon on the day I was supposed to get back in my house that they would be done by 3:30pm. I picked up my dogs and then waited for their final task of applying the light. At 3:00 I called Tim and he called back and said "Oh, they won't be coming back today." What! I am waiting outside to get back in my house! He didn't even care. Then when I finally got back in the next day I noticed damage to the bottom of cabinets from their sander and texted Tim a picture. His response " That can happen I recommend sanding and refinishing" What, I am supposed to fix their damage. The first time in my life I placed a dispute with my Visa to stop payment. Also, they left a HUGE bag of saw dust that I couldn't move and said "it's in the contract that YOU have to take care of the garbage or we charge you $50.00. What contractor doesn't haul off their own garbage? Also, dark stain pooling along the edges. Beware, If you do use them have a penalty clause in the contract if they don't finish on time and don't expect good service. They use subcontractors who have other jobs to do and don't give you attention.

Original Review June 2009 - Ridgefield Flooring installed the original hardwood floors in our home when it was new 20 years ago. We had them come back five years ago and install additional flooring in an adjoining room. They were able to match the original floors perfectly. These guys are professional and very, very good at what they do. Originally a 5-star review. Update October 2016 - I recently hired Ridgefield for another 800 s.f. project. I ordered Red Oak No. 2 Common and was told that there would be significant color and grain variation. I was not told that there would be significant worm holes and gashes in the material that was placed. The holes and gashes were puttied and look horrible after finishing. Tim's proposed correction to this issue is strip, stain and refinish the new floor.......at a cost of $1.25 per square foot extra above the original contract amount. No, thank you. The installers also beat up the existing baseboards pretty good, for which I was given a $225 credit. This was a very disappointing experience and we will be looking for someone else to try to improve the look of this substandard $6000 floor.

We had them put hardwood floors throughout our first floor, the stairs and hallway upstairs. The workers were very professional. I was not worried about leaving them in my house while we worked. They did a fantastic job with weaving in an area of wood we had put down years ago. The floors were sanded, stained, and then finished to perfection. I would highly recommend their expertise!
