Home Building and Renovations MEET THE BUILDER Richard is a native of Decatur, Georgia and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1968. After serving as an officer with the U.S. Navy Seabees in Vietnam, he worked in multifamily construction and Construction Management consulting until 1977. He then began working in single family home construction in North side Atlanta until 1988 when he and his wife, Cathy, formed their own luxury home construction company. Adams Custom Homes, Inc. and later The Adams Group Builders, Inc. and Adams Residential, LLC have built over one hundred homes in the Atlanta area from $500,000 to over $3,000,000. The companies are the recipients of numerous professional awards as judged by their industry peers and are members of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association. Richard is a Certified Professional Home Builder with the Atlanta Home Builders Assn and also certified as a Green Professional Builder. Their homes have been published in many lifestyle and trade publications and are featured in Dream Homes of Georgia, an elegant new coffee table book.
