Kathleen’s design advice was instrumental in creating our bright modern kitchen with open concept family and dining room. She is very knowledgeable and easily worked with hard surfaces, right into furniture, drapery and décor, always keeping in mind our design requirements. I’m on the Board of Directors for my condo. We needed to update the exterior and the hallways of our almost 30 year old building. The work would be completed over the course of about 2 years, but we wanted a plan and a designer who could do that for us. Kathleen was recommended to us by a friend who had built an addition to her house and refinished all the interior. Working with 5 disparate people on a BOD is not easy. Kathleen has put together a very comprehensive design for us. She listened and understood what we wanted and she gave very professional presentations to the board (on zoom) that included computer generated visuals of the final results. She researched and recommended finishing products. She has provided us with annotated graphics that can be used by our property manager and tradesmen to complete the job. Her prices were reasonable and she has always delivered what she promised, professionally and on time. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to others.

We were very pleased with Kathleen's overall performance. She spent several consultation sessions with us then presented design options. She pursed material options to fit out budget, provided spread sheets for project phases including contractor payments along with frequent site visits. I have a background in interior commercial construction and design and I was impressed with Kathleen's attention to detail. A talented designer and experience in turnkey projects.

In renovating my kitchen I used Kathleen's services to help me with the design, and I am very glad I did. She offered some great ideas and was able to guide me through the different stages of my design, from layout, to colour selection, and the dozens of small items you normally would overlook. I appreciated her patience, her talent in design, and keen eye for details. I would not hesitate in reaching out to Kathleen if doing another renovation project.

We hired Kathleen of Kathleen Steel Design to help us with our kitchen/dining room redesign. We thought we knew what we wanted. Through on-site consultations and with Kathleen’s extensive interior design knowledge and years of experience she was able to give us great ideas and advice as to what will and won’t work. A lot of which we would have never thought of. She was able to create helpful 3D drawings showing us what our finished kitchen will look like. Kathleen revived a tired bedroom, creating a warm, elegant, classic environment. She built the design around a cherished piece of art acquired on a trip which makes the completed room even more special because of the memories it preserves. I love waking up in this room and also spending time in it at different times of the day when the light creates different effects. Kathleen has an amazing capacity to somehow see the vision that you have in your head and bring it to reality with fabric and paint.

It was an exciting, hassle free new kitchen project from beginning to end. Kathleen takes charge, in search for trades people that she knows do great work and are proud of the work they do. Cabinetry, fixtures, tiles all was searched with care that added to the over all look of the kitchen. Definitely will be using Kathleen Steele Design for my next project without hesitation.

Kathleen Steele (One by One Interiors) helped me with my Bronte Townhouse renovation from beginning to end. During our initial meeting, Kathleen was attentive and highly motivated to understand my vision, preferences, family and work habits, all in an attempt to develop a well matched plan for going forward. Kathleen has a natural ability to not just listen to the client, but to be able to truly hear what the client is saying/feeling in terms of needs versus wants. Kathleen made amazing recommendations for all my wall colors, carpet choices, light fixtures, cabinetry, hardware, plumbing, window treatments, furniture, and accents. Kathleen worked extremely well with my architect, construction supervisor and all the sub-trades. Her ability to pull together and work with many moving parts is impressive. I highly recommend Kathleen --- she made my renovation smooth and enjoyable. She can be trusted. Of greatest importance to me is integrity and Kathleen demonstrated high integrity on numerous occasions --- her word completely matches her actions. I look forward to my next project with Kathleen at the helm!

Kathleen provided great guidance for my kitchen renovation. She was very knowledgeable and helpful about all aspects of the project and was able to quickly access other professionals to work on the reno as required. The kitchen was completed on time and on budget and I have received many compliments about the renovation and its appearance and functionality since. I recommend Kathleen as an excellent resource for both design and renovations and would have no hesitation to call her again if i embark on another major project.
