Peter Ozolins Architect, P.C.

I established my architectural practice in 1998 after more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience as an architect in Minnesota, Virginia, Madagascar and Tanzania. I strive for designs made sustainable by responding to local culture and climate, making use of locally available building techniques and materials. Regarding architecture as a service profession, I try to involve clients in all phases of their projects, resulting in designs that better embody the goals of the client, and are ultimately more responsive to the variety of project parameters. I strive for appropriate and beautiful design with the goal of creating memorable places, while satisfying client goals within the context of the project. A significant portion of my U.S.-based work is on university projects both individually and in partnership with other firms. The remainder is in the design of custom residential and commercial projects. Representative projects include the Swannanoa Hall Renovation for the English Department Offices and the Presser Music Building Renovation, both at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and their new Wetherill Visual Arts Center for which I provided construction administration and F&E procurement services. I extend the capabilities of my firm through associations with architecture firms in Minnesota, Virginia, North Carolina, Madagascar and Tanzania thus allowing me to undertake a wider range and scale of projects.
