Petra Geiling Interior Design

I've worked with Petra on 3 complete projects, and we're under way with the fourth. She has exceptionally fine taste; she's great at reading her clients' taste and designing with that in mind; she's adventuresome and she really understands space. I can't recommend her highly enough. The first project was two bathrooms, a garage and a laundry room. She worked with the contractor and architect to pick surfaces and colors, and she worked with me to make sure the things that were important to me were implemented in ways that made sense for the spaces in question. One of the bathrooms is quite small and she was great at choosing colors that maximized the space and light in the room to give it the illusion of space. She also chose great floors for the garage and laundry room, giving them style to match the rest of the house. The next project was a large remodel of my house (addition, adding a massage studio, installing a labyrinth for walking meditation, and so on). She came up with great ideas for color in the living room (deep purple) and the rest of the house (taupe) that I never would have thought of on my own. She matched those with a rich red laminate for the cabinetry in the kitchen. The spaces breath and have life thanks to her contributions. The third project was the basement, where she helped again with colors and textures of the wood paneling, carpet, furniture and lighting, not to mention the finishes on the panel that holds both the gas fireplace and the TV. Thanks to Petra's contributions, I have a man cave that serves as a guest suite, and it has the space and light to work well for both purposes. Since those projects, my sweetheart and I have bought a house and Petra is helping bring it to life with great ideas for colors, finishes and use of light and space. In short, Petra is an invaluable resource. I am eternally grateful for her contributions and friendship. I hope I'm done remodeling and buying houses for the foreseeable future, but if I have to travel this path again, I am happy that I have Petra there to help bring my space to life!

We have a traditional ranch style home built in 1976 so we wanted to update the kitchen. It was important to us that room not clash with the style of the house. There are a couple of things that Petra really impressed me. She was able to provide several layout options and give us the pluses and minuses of each. She then brought us samples of the quartz, rock back splash, wood for the cabinets and floors and paint colors that perfectly matched the house and our style.

When my husband and I bought our vacation home in Arizona in 2012, we sought out the expertise of Petra Geiling. The house was built in 1985 and was very outdated. Petra advised us on paint, shutters, light fixtures, and furnishings. The house was transformed into a contemporary, vibrant, comfortable look and feel. Petra also provided us with a vision for future structural changes that would enhance our living experience further. Those changes were fully implemented last year. We are so pleased with the end result that we are making this our permanent residence!

Petra Geiling helped us with a major remodel of our home which included kitchen and master suite, stairs, foyer and laundry room. She worked well with the contractor's team and with us. She helped us take an orderly and personal approach to choosing granite, marble, wall colors, colors of new furniture and rugs. The project resulted in a consistent and pleasing environment which we love. Recently she helped us with another smaller project with the same great result. She has a great sense of color and is client-oriented in her approach.

Petra came to us recommended by Kraft Custom Construction, our contractor for many difficult remodeling projects for our 1910 craftsman. Petra talked to me about what I wanted and the came back with sample materials that were spot on in every regard including color, style, marketability, and budget. Petra had existing relationships with our subcontractors who held her expertise in high regard. When we sold our home and moved to a much smaller apt. I called on Petra again to help me with colors, scale, and furniture placement in a lovely but difficult floorplan. Again spot on. I highly recommend Peyta and PGID.

I have known and employed Petra, as a professional interior designer for over 26 years. She has designed and decorated both my home and a condominium that I own. Her selection of fabric, paint color and finishes is impeccable. Over these years, Petra has helped design my bathrooms and kitchens...and selected the tile design, paint colors, lighting and layout for both. She has selected material to re-cover furniture and made carpet selections. She has helped me to frame paintings. Her color sense is remarkable. She is always an indispensable team member with the Construction Company...and is held in high esteem in our community. I am proud of my home because of Petra's interior design sense.

Petra recently provided us with designer services for a total home remodel we were doing from 2500 miles away. Our initial expectation was that we would have to make 3-4 trips to resolve design and contractor questions to keep the project moving forward. We didn't make a single trip!!! Petra's effective communication skills, her timeliness and her breadth of knowledge of sources of supply kept both us and our contractor fully informed of design options and recommendations. She worked very hard to understand our desires for style, color and overall look and kept her recommendations consistent with those criteria. She brought numerous creative suggestions to the table, many of which were utilized. She was diligent in helping us keep the project on time and on budget. We will use her again.

As a real estate professional for the past 25 years I have worked with Petra on numerous projects large and small since 1994. Her background in Architectural Design shines through in her ability to offer creative and appropriate solutions for each project. Some designers put their own stamp on every project they touch. The difference with Petra is each individual client's preferences and style shine through, guided with her knowledge and creativity. In the end you want someone who "gets you" and helps as little or as much as you want with each project. Petra is fun to work with and a pro!
