My name is Paul Melish. I started my company in California in December of 2001. Since then, I have been able to expand my business into many of the cutting edge technologies in the homebuilding market. I hope to develop small, efficient homes that are Net-Zero. I have 20 years of experience in the construction industry. I began as a carpenter to pay my way through college. After college, I stayed with construction through my many travels. I have worked on all types of construction projects, from government buildings, military bases, and residential construction. My company specializes in modular and panelized construction. We manage site work, foundations, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical systems. We also set buildings throughout California. We specialize in complex, multi-unit and multi-story buildings. We are specially insured to handle this difficult work for commercial and residential buildings.

Paul was very generous with his time and insight into what we thought was a somewhat straight forward remodel with a modular house element. He took the time to show us what we needed to consider, identified some critical issues that need to be clarified before the work can continue, and put us in touch with other professionals who can help resolve the challenges that had previously not bee identified. Without his help, we likely would have spent a lot of time and money pursuing options that ultimately would not have met our needs in retrospect. We were delighted with his candor and insights and would gladly use him again in the future.

I hired Paul to do all of the site work for a modular house, specifically -- building the foundation, setting the modules, and doing the extensive work necessary to turn the attached modules into a finished home.. Paul and his crew did excellent work. He is very enthusiastic about the modular process. Very importantly to me, he was a clear and responsive communicator, setting and adjusting expectations appropriately.

We've had work done by other contractors but working with Paul Melish Builder was and has been amazing. Paul has always gone beyond just getting the job done. From doing a lot of extra "leg work", to insuring the best outcome for our home. He and his crew are punctual, courteous, and true craftsmen. Attention is paid to all the details including a clean job site! I can't emphasis enough what a pleasure it has been to have Paul Melish Builder be part of making our home more complete. From adding a "garden room" sanctuary including new decking, to installing new french doors in a 1922 home, (not an easy task!) to refinishing a tired old fireplace, all has been done on time, budget and most importantly with confidence the job will be done right the first time. Great contractor!

I have worked with Paul on many projects over the past four years and have never had a bad experience. Paul is highly knowledgeable about all aspects of construction, but has specialized knowledge relating to the design and construction of modular structures. I first worked with Paul on Michelle Kaufmann modular homes and was struck by the depth of preparation that Paul undertook to ensure that projects flowed as smoothly as possible. He is the only builder that I have ever met who is genuinely loved by his clients. If I was in the market for a new home, Paul Melish is the only builder that I would call.
