Patricia Waldygo Paintings

We purchased a number of Patti Waldygo's paintings for our Bed and Breakfast and Gallery near Santa Fe. They are spiritual works of art that filled the spaces with a grace and elegance that speaks to the endless horizons and boundless energy of their settings. Our guests have even asked to purchase them, but I refuse to let them go. Although we bought a number of Southwest pieces for our Inn, we also fell in love with her Island imagery and purchased 3 of those as well. I only wish I had more walls to fill with her quiet yet powerful visions of our world.

The first painting I purchased by artist Patrica Waldygo was a watercolor called Bedroom Sea View. Hanging in my bedroom, it is a soothing and wonderful reminder of warm evening breezes found in the Caribbean, offering a glimpse of the moon thru an open door under the fringe of a thatched roof that is silhouetted against the night sky. I love, love, love, this painting, so when the time came to add some color to an otherwise uninspired guest room, I turned to Patricia’s paintings first. Again, I found the perfect fit in a painting called Cherry Blossoms, which added beautiful, textured, pastel colors in a grove of cherry blossoms during the height of spring. The vibrant colors and lush setting lit up the room! I highly recommend her work.

Patricia Waldygo's paintings (we own three at present, among the works of other artists) are beautiful and masterly, reflecting decades of her artistic evolution.. But even more, her landscapes are portals into enchanting worlds, familiar yet unfamiliar, that entrance and envelop you.

I have a beautiful painting by Patricia Waldygo The painting represents Cerberus "He guards the entrance of the underworld to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering." The painting I have feels peaceful. Cerebus stands on the porch of a burning shack looking at me with flame lit eyes. Fire highlights the datura blossoms, juniper trees and nightime hills of the Southwest. As I look at Cerebus, I wonder, should I enter the burning house which does not seem to burn, or wander into the night guided by the full moon and milky way. I love my painting.

I am the proud owner of one of Patricia Waldygo's paintings, "The Four Horses of the Apocalypse." It's mysterious, eerie, beautiful, I can stare at it for hours. What else can I say? The painting hangs in my living room, reminds me to dream.

I purchased an oil painting from Patricia Waldygo's New Mexico landscape series and love looking at it. It's called Spring Winds. It is a picture of the artist's former home, but the painting is evocative of a safe haven anywhere a storm is approaching. I love the blue shades of the clouds and the bright orange curtains blowing out the window, while inside warm yellow likes beckon. Children make up stories about who lives in the house, while adults say it reminds them of houses they've known or windy days of thei youth. I hope to purchase more work from this artist.
