We have worked with other landscapers and this company is the best! Everyone we interacted with was conscientious and 100% focused on customer service. Wow, a huge difference from previous experiences. If you want a job done right hire ONS. We probably would have save ourselves a lot of money and headache if we started with them. They fixed lots of problems we had with other landscapers.

ONL completed a landscape project for us in summer 2018. Although the design was OK, overall we were disappointed with the experience. We were charged for additional services without explanation despite having a formal change process defined in the contract. Items covered in the contract were never completed. Poor quality materials in the planting beds has resulted in struggling plants and a lot of extra work (and cost) to fix. There has been no follow-up to find out if we were happy with the project, to make sure the plants were OK, or even to thank us for our business. When we raised our concerns with the owner of the company, he didn’t remember doing business with us. In general, as a customer paying a five-figure fee, we expected more from our contractor. We do get their annual holiday card, so there is that.

It’s been such a pleasure working with the whole Old North State Landscaping team. Everything turned out Fantastic and the whole process was easy and stress free. From concept to design, excavation to installation, follow-up maintenance and tweaks, and lots of details in between, everything was done to meet and exceed our expectations. We had extensive work which included complete drainage & irrigation, soil prep, hardscaping, lighting and plantings, including a brand new lawn that stays green and is the envy of the neighborhood. The work crews that came out daily were extremely professional and very skilled in their respective trades – whether it was Irrigation or brick and stonework, they were meticulous in making sure things were done right, functional and looked fantastic. When we started, we really didn’t have anything particular in mind. We had a few basic goals: Replace a very inferior deck with landing, create a patio and pleasant outside living space, drain all downspouts away from property, Plantings for color, privacy and low maintenance, properly install a lawn that will survive summer heat, install irrigation to sustain plantings, replace front concrete walkway with something more commensurate with the beauty of the property, and add functional as well as decorative lighting. So we needed someone who could help us with some artistic vision. Besides a general budget, that’s all Bill Strope and his design team needed to hit the ground running. After several iterations of plan concepts, we had a beautiful design, a workable budget and a schedule to get things rolling. Our experience with Old North State Landscaping has been nothing less than FANTASTIC from beginning to end. They are a family company that made us feel like we were a part of their family. We had admired a neighbor's fire pit designed and built by Old North State Landscape. When we later decided to upgrade our patio and add a stone fireplace, wood boxes and seating wall, we contacted Bill Strope. He was responsive, came by to look at the area, discussed ideas and followed up with a rough sketch. He explained the aspects of the site that we would need to work into the design. We then refined our thinking with Bill's help and guidance and actually went to the stone yard together to choose exactly the right stone. Bill worked with the homeowner's association and secured a quick approval. Within a couple of weeks. the crews were on site working. Everyone we interacted with was polite, professional and the masons were true craftsmen! It was a delight to watch them create what we had envisioned day by day. When they completed the job, they cleaned up thoroughly even power washing the work area and surrounding structures leaving it cleaner than when we began the project. Bill personally followed up to be sure everything had been completed to our specifications. Even the neighbors commented on how neatly they managed the staging area in front of our house. We did a major landscape renovation in our yard. Old North State Landscape consulted with us, designed the features, and handled the entire project. They were thorough, professional, and creative. They did everything we expected and more. And, they are genuinely nice people! We were very pleased with the outcome of our project, which has a lot of stonework, a new pool, pavers, flag stones, a new open-air deck, etc.
