When my husband and I got ready to renovate our house, we wanted to be as prepared and informed as possible. So we did a ton of research and interviewed at least 10 architects for the project. Jason and Shawn immediately stood out from the group. They really listened to our ideas, asked questions about our lifestyle and design aesthetic, and thought about everything that we might want and need from the house in the future. Their knowledge and experience made us feel that they would shape and improve our ideas, instead of simply agreeing to anything we proposed. Their combination of design and build was a huge advantage, reassuring us that they could actually execute their concepts within our budget. A major renovation is a long and exhausting process, but Jason and Shawn were with us the entire way. They had great ideas, patiently worked with us to create the final design, and helped us with every detail - from choosing between 20 different white tiles to making sure the stain on our wood floors was perfect. They were always responsive and available to give advice, help us make decisions, and answer our millions of questions. The final product is incredible! Our house is transformed into exactly what we hoped it could be. I can't recommend OKB highly enough to anyone doing a renovation.

I worked with this firm to plan and complete a significant remodel of our home, including replacement of all doors and windows; remodeling of the kitchen, family room, master bath & closet; and the creation of a home office. They are accessible and knowledgeable regarding building codes and energy efficient materials. Their design sense is impeccable, and they worked with us to remodel in a manner that complemented and improved upon the mid-century "bones" of our home. As our architects, they were in very regular communication with me by phone and email, and also remained involved through the completion of the job, collaborating with us and our contractor. I heartily recommend this firm.

Shawn and Jason are incredibly practical and detail-oriented, but they also can step back and look at the whole of a project and figure out what is going to be the most meaningful improvement to the home. And because Shawn is a really good contractor and Jason is a really good architect/designer, you are always getting options at different price points with different aesthetic values. Could not recommend them highly enough.

We went to the recent Dwell Magazine L.A. Tour and got to see their work first hand in Pasadena. Their contemporary addition turned an otherwise standard home into something really outstanding. The integration was seamless and showed that the architects have a firm understanding of livable space. We met Shawn Bleet, who gave a lecture the night before. He is the embodiment of creativity and he carries a unique collaborative spirit, something that you really want on a home building project. We wouldn't hesitate recommending OKB for a second!
