Dave and the team at Oak Design & Construction did a great job on a significant home remodel for us. The changes made to the home celebrate and fit the heritage of its 1885 River Forest style and will keep it a nice place to live for years to come.

We love working with Oak Construction! We just finished our second bathroom remodel with them and it is another beautiful result. We thought the old bathroom was acceptable but this is such an upgrade. In addition to much better aesthetics, we have also made the bathroom more friendly for aging in place. Dave and his staff are very knowledgeable to help with choices of fixtures and are very can-do about suggesting options. The work is well done and everyone skilled in what they do. They are very easy to work with and we highly recommend Oak Construction. We will certainly go back to them with any future projects.

We have used Oak Design & Construction for two major projects...the first was a kitchen rehab and the second was a remodel of the first floor, including a kitchen rehab. We would not hesitate to use them again...very professional and do high quality work. Dave Brady and his team are very customer focused and a joy to have in your house for weeks...cannot say that about too many contractors!! They are also very versatile as they just finished a modern upgrade in Oak Park.

Dave Brady and his team at Oak Design and Construction have worked with me on many projects over the years. Most recently he completed a 2 story Addition to my 1937 house. I couldn't be happier with the results! Dave is easy to work with, communicates frequently and follows through on a timely basis. In 1984, my wife and I wanted to add a family room to our home with a full basement for workshop space. We had an estimate from another firm but with a referral from a neighbor with a beautiful home, we called Dave Brady of Oak Design and Construction. Within one minute of meeting and talking with him, we knew we had found our builder. He took our ideas with an eye to our budget, and worked with his crew and subcontractors. They excavated the yard, and built a room where we love to spend most of our time. The photo shows the family room decorated by my wife with added oak trim. Since that successful first project, whenever we needed work done we have called on his company. New replacement wood windows, the front porch rebuilt, new siding, tear-off, re-deck and shingle the roof, a two story garage, and a full bathroom rehab. The latest project in 2015, was a rear deck in Trex which turned out much better than my original plan thanks to a design suggestion from his lead carpenter. We always trust Oak to be honest, have tasteful design sense and employ competent and trustworthy crew and sub-contractors. And to use the best available materials and best practices for the application at hand. Of course we accept that superior quality is never cheap, and we're not wealthy people, but for our peace of mind, we have been pleased over 32 years to entrust our home to their care.

Can's say enough good about Dave, Tom and their crews. They did a major four month kitchen remodel for us and the crew was prompt, courteous, tidy, enthusiastic and did excellent work. There were many incidents where they could have taken an entirely acceptable short-cut but instead went an extra mile to make it old-world perfect with a second (or third!) miter cut or moving an outlet an extra inch to make it more convenient. Communication throughout the project was excellent; all calls quickly returned. The crew chief met with us each morning to answer questions/apprise us of progress and to let us know which jobs we needed to complete to maintain progress i.e. buy faucets, get lights, etc. Overall timeline and budget on target realizing you are going to run into some unexpected problems/opportunities i.e. new plumbing in 100 year old house since all pipes become exposed when walls are down to the studs. And in ultimate customer satisfaction, there was a small part of our remodel that we were dissatisfied with because of choices and decisions we had made; work was excellent but didn't like the look. We said as much to Dave and Tom during the final walk-through, "our choices but disappointed in how it turned out" and the response was no, we want you 100% happy so this is what we will do to fix it - and they did. Major remodels are long and messy but can't imagine a better crew to get you though it!

Dave Brady and his crew did an outstanding job at every aspect of the remodeling of our bathroom--from design (to make the best use of a relatively tight space), to materials (beautiful tile selections, fantastic walnut cabinetry, stylish fixtures, and elegant, smoked-glass shower walls), and execution. The work was done on time, on budget, by courteous, talented construction professionals who took great care in the tear-down process not to make a mess of our house. The remodeled bathroom was on the third floor, so the work entailed a lot of breaking old walls and floor tiles up and hand-carrying them down two flights of stairs to deposit them in the dumpster. Can't say enough good things about Oak Design & Construction--they have handled almost every remodeling project we've done at our house over the last 20 years.

I have always felt that building a home or addition is one of most personal things one can undertake. Having known and worked with Dave Brady of Oak Design & Construction for years his firm really takes this to heart. Many construction companies see a home as a door here, some lights there, and some cooling and heat all around here. Dave's craftsmen see it from a 50ft perspective. As a veteran of several remodel, rebuild projects I went into my family room rebuild with some trepidation. My project included a tear off of a 3 season porch and removal of a slab. We then dug a new basement addition, built a family room on top and an attached screened in porch. I hired Oak Design and my worries disappeared. Every single employee was professional, courteous and respectful of my family life. The job sight was clean the project was timely and the final results were amazing. Oak Design is the gold standard in the design and construction business.
