MRBC did a fantastic job of totally remodeling my 1960's kitchen and also remodeled an existing half-bath into a full bath. The workmanship was superior and timely. Very easy to work with.

We had the pleasure of working with, Norton Wheeler and MRBC, on a complicated renovation project at a condominium in the downtown Mystic Village area. Central to this challenge was the installation of a multi-level elevator system and related disability issues. It proved to be a surgical process and Nort's team came through with flying colors. Nort is adept at problem solving and is great with clients. He is a pleasure to work with.

Mystic River Building Company has recently transformed our outdated kitchen, powder room, and foyer into spectacular, stunning rooms. Norton Wheeler, owner and master builder, has put together a truly amazing team of highly skilled craftsmen and excellent subcontractors. The process was actually a wonderful and enjoyable experience that even finished ahead of schedule!! The Mystic River Building Company is known for quality, durability and eco-friendliness. In the fall of 2014 the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce was on hand at an Open House at the Reserve on Farm View in Norwich which was being presented the Connecticut 2014 Showcase Home Award. As we were looking for contractors for our new home we visited with Norton Wheeler. We were so impressed with his knowledge of all the new products out there in home building. We met with our idea of the house we wanted to build and left with so much information. He listened to our ideas and wants and was able to meet all our needs . It was a very informative and relaxing meeting, we were not rushed and felt that we would have great communication during the entire process. He said he would give us a quote in the price range we were looking for and for the style we wanted and he sure did and only took a short time to do it in like he promised. His work is commendable and of the highest grade. I would recommend Norton and his team and would use him in the future for any of our home projects.

The recommendation given to me was fast start, no wasted time, someone checked on workers every day, each project was completed on time and on budget. Pleased with entire process. We hired the contractor to tear down a burned house, design and build a new on site. It was true. Nort and his team were very quick to respond to each communication and addressed all walk-through items immediately. We would certainly hire him again. We really enjoyed the process.

In January 2012 we purchased a three story waterfront condo in Mystic, Connecticut which we needed to completely renovate. Our goal was to make it be handicapped accessible while also creating an inviting waterfront getaway. A builder friend of ours strongly recommended that we use Nort Wheeler of Mystic River Building Company. That was the best recommendation we could have received. Even though the condo has limited square footage, Nort needed to install an elevator, ramps, 3' wide doorways and hallways and enlarge the master bathroom to be able to accommodate an electric scooter. He accomplished all of these without making the condo feel smaller. The result is a condo that feels lighter, brighter and more open than before. A few of the innovative ways Nort saved space was by installing ductless mini splits to heat and cool the condo, using wainscoting wall niches to widen the hallways and install a hidden ramp behind a built-in banquette. In addition to making the condo meet all of our needs, Nort also added many features that made it a warm, inviting and beautiful place to live. These features include 5" wide pickled white oak flooring which has a nautical look, coffered ceiling in the master bedroom, white kitchen with granite counters and a farm sink, wainscot cathedral ceiling in the living room and a library ladder leading to a loft above the living room. Nort was always very professional and hands on throughout the whole project and ensured that everything stayed on schedule. Since we weren't from the area and couldn't visit the jobsite as often as we would have liked, Nort always kept us up-to-date on the progress. Nort is a very experienced builder and has created a superior network of subcontractors who all did an outstanding job. As a result, Nort delivered an extremely well-built finished product that we are proud to own. We loved every moment of the project and know we were fortunate to have found the best contractor for the job. We hope we will be able to work with Nort again in the future.

Mystic River constructed my beach home. They were knowledgable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Every detail was attended to!!!I would never build another home without them. Norton and his team are fabulous!!!

MRBC helped us create our beautiful master bedroom suite with cathedral ceilings, a gas fireplace, dressing area and full bath. The craftsmanship was excellent and everyone on the team was professional, expert and flexible. We couldn't be happier with the results.
