Navin Ramani Design works with Vancouver home owners and property investors to help them professionally design their primary home or a second home to be leased for income. Growing up in Mumbai and subsequently working in New York, Miami, Toronto and Vancouver I am always inspired by designs reflective of Modernity, from Art Deco and Mid-Century Style to Modern Minimalism. Each reveals a sophisticated style of its age and has a place in design where such classics inspire us even today. Introducing subtleties of East with West and Vintage with Contemporary sometimes adds a nice flavour and makes for interesting conversation to the design of a space. Surrounded by the beauty of Art Deco during my childhood, my passion for design began early and in years later evolved into authoring my award winning coffee table book -"Bombay Art Deco Architecture". Registered today as a trade designer with over 25 showrooms in Vancouver, I look forward to having a conversation with you on your design inspirations, the functional goals for your space and my transparent working process to help you manifest this dream. My wife and I hired Navin to design our first home - a three bedroom townhouse - and we could not have made a better choice. He helped us with room design as well as the selection of furniture, lighting, flooring, and paint colour. Navin did a tremendous job of drawing on his own (extremely!) vast knowledge of design and decor concepts while also responding to our wishes and needs around style and functionality. I get the sense that he is very versatile in his ability to work with different styles, but that does not diminish the extent of his knowledge within any one style area. We went for a mid-century modern look and Navin was consistently able to find items that were even better (and cheaper) than what we had expected. Navin's many talents are only matched by his kind and friendly demeanor. Did I mention he is one of the hardest working people I've ever met? You absolutely cannot go wrong with hiring Navin.

Fabulous Furnishings & Window Coverings

A couple years ago we were presenting our work at an interior design function where I first met Navin. We got chatting about our passion for furniture and designing so when presented the opportunity to work together on a custom piece of furniture I was thrilled. From the first moment I met Navin felt a deep respect and admiration and aspired to one day work with him. He such a keen eye for proportion, detail , and knows a great deal about furniture. He was willing to work through the design process and realized that to design something well it must be well thought out. The walnut sofa with its removable arms for a day bed and 100% natural latex foam perfectly addressed both sustainability and style for this unique piece ! I would highly recommend Navin's services to anyone looking to design a unique piece of furniture or need help with spacial planing.
