Lara is phenomenal landscape designer who led our project from initial ideation all the way through to completion. We initially hired her to create the design, and we were so impressed with her work that we hired her to project manage the construction phase as well. She even found an amazing landscape contractor who did the build-out, and the two of them worked together extremely well to bring her vision to life. Lara puts an incredible amount of detail, thought, and intention into her work, ensuring that designs are both beautiful and functional, and that plants are selected and placed based on their growing needs (e.g. sunlight, slope, water drainage) as well as their aesthetics. On top of her superb skills and knowledge, Lara was also a pleasure to work with and was highly communicative, collaborative, and reliable. Working with Lara at Natural Greenscapes was a pleasure. Her professionalism, confidence, attention to detail, and knowledge in the field during the project was impeccable and made for a wonderful installation. With her detailed plan and vision, we turned an ordinary "builder grade" landscape into a beautiful multi use space for a busy family. It consisted of a pergola, paver patio, Trex deck, modern garden boxes, new plantings, and a new irrigation system. Her knowledge in each of these areas was very impressive which showed in the final product. Discovering Lara and her Natural Greenscapes team has been the best thing that has happened to our garden! She transformed our average-sized Redmond suburban backyard space into a haven we frankly didn't imagine could exist in the space we had. We had a few good quality existing shrubs and a small waterlogged lawn. She re-designed this into an attractive winding river-like path of pavers with "islands' of beds and shrubs. We also added a central circular paved seating area, path and plant lighting, The contractors she employed were some of the most cheerful and skilled we have worked with thus far. Lara worked painstakingly with us to create a solution that re-used the best features and plantings in the existing garden while thoughtfully adding dozens of tiered new shrubs and trees for year-round color and visual appeal. She has been especially good about keeping us informed and being transparent about all aspects of the work. We are extremely satisfied and are continuing to employ the services of her expert maintenance team for monthly pruning and upkeep. They really seem to love what they do, and have kept our garden looking it's best the past year. Some of our older shrubs, like a long-time Japanese maple are looking particularly healthy this year, and some of our more more garden-savvy friends have noticed the difference. We have now begun implementing ongoing improvements on our front garden with Natural Greenscapes as well. Outstanding experience overall, and would readily recommend to anyone!

Lara has been such a delight and joy to work with. She took our ideas and created something better than even we could imagine. She provided thoughtful suggestions as well as alternate ideas to create a safer space for our young children. Lara was terrific to work with. We’ve been working together to completely transform our property over the last year. The results were beyond our expectations, and Lara did a terrific job of managing every step of the project. The work was done with exceedingly high quality, very quickly, and on budget.

The entire process of remaking our landscape from something that almost stressed us out just from looking at it to a place that gives me peace was a joy with Lara. Every part of our landscape was a mess: the back was a weedy pit, the side (where we spend most of our time) was far from its full potential, and the front was boring and useless. Lara was a fantastic listener throughout. She started with a questionnaire and turned our incomplete thoughts into a great start for a design. However, what really impressed me most was when we pointed out things from the design that we thought could change, instead of pushing back she listened, made changes, and made the design even better. The process was organized and we always felt like we knew what was going on. Her crew was very professional and completed the job on schedule (maybe a little ahead of schedule). Lara even scheduled follow up visits to make sure things were coming in nicely. Now we love looking outside and spending time in the yard. We can’t say enough good things about working with Lara. We wish we had more space to work on another project with her.

We had a great experience working with Lara. She was probably for only designer who acknowledged our budget and said she will try to make it work. Having said that, it’s no secret that any home project you begin you end up overshooting. But she never forced us into it. She drew up the pros and cons and let us decide. She has been prompt, thorough and patient. She educated us every step of the way. My husband and I didn’t know anything about plants/trees so she provided us with a manual on how to care for every plant she planted. She truly meets her clients where they are. I’d highly recommend her for any landscaping project- small or big!

Lara has a vision and listens to her clients like no other person. My former wasteland of a yard filled with blackberries and neglect was transformed - my yard and garden beds bring me great joy now. Lara selected beautiful plants while asking for my input all along. She explained things to me throughout the entire process and listened to me, incorporating my interests in the yard (for example, I like to dig clams, so Lara suggested using bright white crushed oyster shells in certain areas of my yard and the choice is stunning and meaningful to me.) Her crew worked hard throughout the day, producing quality retaining walls, excavating, and planting all without complaint. My yard is now a beautiful, natural and peaceful sanctuary that I'm extremely proud to share with my friends and that brings me smiles.

Lara and her team were professional and easy to work with. The design processes was organized and stress free. We could not be happier with our landscaping redesign. Lara Vyas was wonderful to work with in every step of this large project and we now are enjoying our own northwest retreat. She is a skilled project manager, creative designer and knowledgeable of zonal plants. She listened to our wishes, expanded our vision, utilized vendors that met our project needs, and we now have renewed garden beds with year-round color, newly graded and shaped lawns, custom-made raised vegetable and pollinator corten planters, a new patio with masonry work, several large and small water features and beautiful outdoor lighting. We had worked with Lara for a two to three years at our home on Mercer Island. When we downsized to a downtown Seattle condominium, Lara and an experienced colleague at Natural Greenscapes brought their design and execution our new environment. Lara designed appropriate color and vegetation, worked with the tight urban space for parking, loading etc., and maintained a highly professional and clean "staging area" in the building’s public space while transforming the planters on the decks with colorful, seasonally appropriate Northwest plantings. We feel that we are again surrounded by a bit of nature, and all done with the highest degree of professionalism.

Some of our new plants were grazed on by deer the next day after planting, and Lara was great in switching them out and substituting something else.

I’m SO GLAD I found Natural Greenscapes after reviewing options and looking at draft designs and bids created for me by other landscapers. There are many things to consider in addition to budget when looking for the right landscaper and Lara at Natural Greenscapes addresses them all effortlessly. Here were my main concerns in priority order: 1.Budget 2.Maintainability 3.Plants a.Privacy b.Native c.Edibles d.Fragrant 4.Several separate spaces a.Entertaining b.Vegetable gardens c.Visually relaxing/refreshing (ornamental/artistic) 5.The ability to plan for a combination of contracted labor and things I could do myself (like planting or mosaics) Lara’s design process is highly collaborative, and I felt understood and included as we moved from brainstorming to design and implementation. Her knowledge of local resources for anything related to landscaping is invaluable. If you’re on a budget and want to do some things yourself, she knows where you can get quality plants, soil, mulch, hardscape – you name it – for a reasonable price. If you want to have someone else do all the work, she can provide estimates for her crew to do the work or references for other contractors who do specific types of construction not covered in NG services. Taking the time to thoughtfully complete the questionnaire provided by NG for your space is imperative and well worth the investment and saves hours of time in the end. I was amazed how Lara leveraged this information to design my dream yards. It really hit me when she had the exact same picture I had previously saved to illustrate a specific feature I wanted – we were absolutely in step and on the same page throughout the process. In addition, when I would get ahead of myself with dreaming, she was able to remind me of the priorities I’d listed in the questionnaire and help me incorporate them with my new ideas. The processes followed by NG from initial questionnaire through design and implementation are organized, intentional, and simple. Communication was also excellent – I never had an unanswered email or phone call or missed appointment. Every expectation was not only met, but exceeded. The actual physical designs I received were not only to scale, but were in color and included planting instructions, details on each plant along with pictures, and details about the amount of sunlight generally available in each part of the yard. I know I will be relying heavily on these wonderful designs as I implement new plantings throughout the year. I hope to continue working with NG as my landscape matures and I come up with more ideas or just have questions about resources or the best time and way to plant a specific tree or shrub. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Lara was just wonderful to work with. We have a smaller yard space yet we wanted it to live large. We have an eating area, a patio area under a beautiful pergola with wisteria, a small grassy area. We wanted fragrant plants, plants where something is in bloom all year, an edible garden, evergreen plants, climbing plants and more. I especially loved her artistic touches and ideas to make our yard space unique. Lara came up with a fantastic plan where she fulfilled our wishlist. She's knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with.

Lara was fantastic to work with! She set the stage upfront to find out our needs and our style. She brought a lot of great ideas forward and, together, we redesigned our flower beds and picked out plants. She came in under our overall budget. Her crew did a great job with installation of plants and hose bibs. Very professional, very well done and very efficient! Lara was on-site to make sure everything went as planned. She also provided excellent follow-up to make sure the plants were doing well and the programmed hose bibs were adequately watering everything. This was my first experience with a landscape designer and it turned out to be a really fun project. Natural G. takes the time to find out what you'd like in your garden and how you intend to use it. I was looking to have a space that was playful and whimsical while having this particular part of the garden be low maintenance. The area will also have something in bloom throughout the year and I would never have been able to figure that out by myself. This garden cannot be fully viewed from the house so steps were set in to give access from the top of a rockery. As each little plant has its own fascination, this has become a space which actually draws you out there to see what's happening.

We moved into a new construction home a couple of years ago; our yard was basically a blank slate. Lara helped us design a wonderful landscape with a fantastic mix of fruit and flowering plants. She provided all the expertise needed to understand our tastes and needs. The grass lawn was suffering from patchy growth due to shallow topsoil, she helped rejuvenate the lawn and provided us great tips on how to maintain it. It was great working with Lara and we highly recommend her service.

My husband and I were unable to see any potential in our mess of a back yard. We wanted it to be a place where we'd enjoy relaxing and visit with friends. After meeting with Lara who is clearly very knowledgeable, we were inspired and wowed! We loved everything she recommended. She was very detailed when it came to describing what would work best and why. The project took 3-4 days. I appreciated how tidy and thoughtful her team was. At the end of each day! everything was cleaned up as much as possible and made ready for the next day. Each team member clearly knew what the end product was going to be and knew what had to be done throughout the day.

She makes it easy to stay in communication with email, text, phone, Pinterest and more. She is a good listener, taking in our ideas and concerns, then helped as a garden coach to help us select plants that would thrive in specific yard areas. She thoughtfully selected plants so we would have different areas bloom throughout the year. She is not linked to purchasing from specific sellers, recommending several locations to purchase plants and pots. Lara even met out at a nursery to talk about options and plant "fit." She personally oversees the work and products as they are being installed, jumping in where needed to ensure questions are addressed as they come up. Lara spent hours of time going through our landscape with us, asking us questions, listening to what we wanted and did not want, and offering up new ideas. She even met with us at a local nursery to look through plants together and talk about how they might fit into our landscaping. Lara created a spectacular plan, was always available to answer our many questions, and was always easy to work with.
