Myra Burg

Absolutely beautiful work!!! Everyone that enters my home, remarks on the lovely installation. Just perfect for my high ceiling. I cannot recommend Liz Cummings and Myra Burg enough.

Amazing, fabulous, so creative with the BEST service ever. I found Myra years ago and vowed someday, when I had money, I would buy some of her art and her I am, maybe 15 years later, the proud owner of a magnificent wall installation. Her art is so unusual and attractive. Well worth waiting for.

We purchased a vacation home with all of the existing furniture a couple of years ago. In trying to make it 'our own', we felt that the neutral decor needed a major color infusion. A 20 foot wall in the Living/Dining room seemed to be the ideal focal point. Finding a large piece of art (or complementary pieces) proved to be quite the challenge. After scouring the island of Maui, and then the internet, it dawned on me that the solution was to hire Myra to design and create the perfect art for our space. I first met Myra in 2011 at an art show. I was drawn to her display of colorful and unique oboes. When it comes to art, I describe myself as a 'hit me' person...I couldn't tell you what I'd like to fill a space, but when I see it, it will 'hit me' and I'll know it's right! Well, Myra's work 'hit me' that day, and not long after, she was in my home, installing several of her wonderful oboes above the fireplace in my living room. We love the warmth and color it brings to the room, and the element of fun that it adds. So, at the beginning of this year, when I couldn't find a piece of art for our vacation home wall, I turned to Myra to create a magical solution. A collaborative piece that she and painter Liz Cummings had created for another client became the inspiration for our Maui piece. Myra and I spent time together discussing colors, sizes. layouts, etc. and she coordinated with Liz for the painted pieces. To ensure that the art was hung properly, we flew Myra to Maui to do the installation. She brought some additional oboes along with her, as the art is created and takes form as it is installed. We couldn't be happier with the outcome! Myra and Liz's art infused our home with an energy that is amazing! From start to finish on both projects, Myra was a pleasure to work with....professional, reliable, talented...and so much fun to be with!!!

I am the Executive Vice President of a major bank in New York City. We wanted to purchase some beautiful artwork for some of our facilities here and were looking for something different and unique. We decided on Myra Burg's "Quiet Oboes" series. They are visually quite stunning and we constantly get rave reviews from guests to our offices and from our employees. Myra Burg was wonderful to deal with. She is a consummate professional. So easy to work with and easy to talk to. It's a treat to work directly with a creative artistic person who also knows how to handle business and can communicate so well. We told her what we needed and she came through with flying colors (literally!). We plan to continue to work with Myra in our other facilities throughout the country. I highly recommend her and her work.

Myra Burg's beautiful oboes have been the last things our eyes have seen before we drift off to sleep for the past 7 years. They hang, or float as it sometimes seems, on the wall above our bed. Their colors, vibrant yet peaceful have never faded. I love the unique forms and colors that Myra created with her installation. I have never seen anything like them. Guests lucky to see them are captivated by their beauty as well. My children and I often gaze up at them and one will ask which is my favorite oboe (we have 6 in the installation). My favorite oboe is always the 3rd one up with the gold and turquoise colors melting into one another, or maybe the big one, 2nd from the top, with it's orange and magenta tones that glow like a sunset. My favorite oboe changes as my mood, the light and shadows do. But one thing remains constant, these oboes are a pleasure to own and I love them!
