Mike and his crew just completed an entire kitchen remodel that included reframing exterior walls to accommodate large bi-fold and sliding doors (check out the pictures), new flooring, new cabinets, all new electrical, etc.... High level experience, the MTR crew was always courteous, respectful, professional, and clean while working on the house. Everyday they cleaned up, which is not something you focus on much before starting a major renovation. It creates a mess regardless, but there is a huge difference when working with professionals that respect the fact that you are living through it all. Even the trucks/trailers that were parked in front of your house were well kept, a minor detail that is also a key indicator as to a contractor's professionalism and their quality of work. Contracting and payment terms with Mike were clear, and most importantly, in accordance with the Contractors State License Board regulations. If you are currently looking for a contractor to conduct any kind/scope of work on your home, do yourself a favor and read up on the regulations that are in place to protect CA consumers in their dealings with contractors. This industry (especially in CA) is rife with shady, fraudulent actors. Asking a few key questions can tell you a lot, and help sift out the bad actors. Look at the trucks they drive, is there license number clearly listed on all materials (business cards, quotes, trucks, websites, etc.), is their license current and clean on the Contractors State License Board website? (https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx) You will get quotes that appear cheap relative to professional contractors like Mike, but you will pay in the end if you're careless to consider the cost of working with a fraudulent or Mickey Mouse operation. Do your diligence. It would have saved us tens of thousands had we done ours with the first contractor we hired fro the job. I say it would have saved us tens of thousands since we were defrauded by a previous contractor that left us with an incomplete kitchen that needed to completely scrapped, including the framing. Trying to find our way forward, we were referred to Mike by a friend who also had a good experience with him on a remodel. When we first met him, we had a kitchen in shambles - framing that was not structurally sound as confirmed by an architect and engineer, drywall, insulation, pluming and wiring that was not inspected and no exterior walls. Mike immediately dialed one of the architects he works with and handed me the phone. I schedule a meeting, and that call was the pivotal moment that eventually led to one of the coolest kitchens we've ever seen. They are very responsive, fair priced, have well trained and knowledgeable subcontractors, and overall did just what I needed to have done within a timely manner and turned out a terrific product.

I love this company! They built us an outdoor covered patio and balcony. It has recessed lights, a heater and fan. It is beautiful. They were very strict by the book, with the inspections and the codes. They were neat and very nice. The owner was always around to inspect each step. This is a top notch professional company. I will use them for our next project!

I would highly recommend MTR to anyone (and I do!). Mike is a pleasure to work with. He always answers calls and emails quickly, he takes time to explain everything and is an honest nice person to work with. We did a major home renovation – basically taking a house down to the slab and rebuilding it – changing the layout, adding a second story, bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room. MTR finished our project, and stayed within our agreed timeline. Honestly, it was a miracle how fast they worked and got everything they said they would completed. We had MTR Construction retile our shower in 2011 and they did such a great job that when we decided to have our kitchen done we gave Mike a call to come out and take a look. He gave us a very fair estimate so we decided to have MTR do the work. The work took about two weeks and we are very pleased with the final results. Mike is very honest and always goes the extra distance to make sure you are happy. We would not hesitate to use MTR Construction again in the future.
