Had a difficult experience with the company. They put my sink in and placed the vent below the sink. We spoke to him about the vent being above the sink and he said that it didn't need to be. We don't use our dishwasher often but now it leaks because of the vent and where its placed and the connection. I had Mr. rooter plumbing come over to fix the leak and they told me to reach to whoever messed up the vent and connection to come and fix it. I In Seattle the code that vents are supposed to be higher than the sink. I reached out to him to see if he would check the problem and when I mentioned the code he stopped replying to my emails, I called and left a message and no answer. The job that was done was a while ago but there was an error on Lawrence and his company for not putting the vent above the sink. You would think that if a past customer reached out about a job that was done incorrectly by Mt. Baker Remodeling that the company would try to make things right or at least call to see what the issue is. I told my partner through the process that I never trusted Mt. Baker remodeling. That is just one of issues of many dealing with them during our remodel. They tried to charge us for hours something that one of the installers messed up. Installed outlets that didn't work and had to come back and the next day to fix. Dispute of some of the hours worked, had to come back a second time and reseal the deck. Please stay away from these guys!!!!!

99% of our clients prefer the dishwasher air-gap vent to be placed just BELOW the countertop so as not to mar the beauty of their $12,000 countertops with an ugly $10 piece of plastic ABOVE the countertop. It is code, indeed, to have the air gap sitting on the countertop, but we, unlike many contractors, treat our clients like adults who can make their own decisions, fully informed by us of their options. Most clients love the way we sometimes offer out-of-the-box thinking to help them achieve their aesthetic goals, even if it means finding a work-around for a minor code like this. So long as the air gap is placed high enough in the sink base cabinet, it will still perform as it is intended to prevent water from backing up into the dishwasher from a clogged sink. Perhaps the hose was bumped and disturbed, or perhaps the connection loosened over time and needed a quick tightening. Our warranty, on paper, is one year, yet at the time of this writing, for example, we are happily repairing a shower we built for a different client a full 10 years ago. We have always stood by our work well after we are gone.
We are truly sorry that she was not happy with her experience, and we regret not being more forthright with her about why we could not continue to return to her townhome. After an initial round of projects, the second round was staffed by a different crew, of whom she repeatedly asked for free repairs of her deck that were done by previous contractors, not us. She consistently took advantage to try to get free work, and we had to draw a line eventually.

Lawrence did a great job at remodeling my kitchen and master bathroom. The contract and budget estimate was very detailed. The labor cost was the best you could hope for. The work was done quickly and with amazing result. Teo, the lead engineer, is an amazing funny guy who treated me and my dog with so much kindness. He helped me with everything I needed around the house during the construction time, and without raising the cost or delay the project! I got so many compliments for my updated kitchen and bathroom. I’m still very surprised at the labor cost vs the high quality of work after 2 years. Now I’m selling my home and everyone who came asking me who did the kitchen and bathroom. My realtor told me that remodel work would help me to sell my home at a very good price. I highly recommend Lawrence!

Lawrence and his team did a fantastic job helping use do some fixes and remodeling to a 19th century bungalow that was in poor shape when we purchased it. They were totally great about just doing the things we couldn't or didn't want to tackle ourselves.

We can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Lawrence and Mount Baker Remodeling. Their creativity for the design and attention to detail was incredible. We had a very small space to which we needed to add a bathroom, and they figured out a great way to do this. During the time that they were working, they always left the space clean and neat, were open to questions and were easy to communicate with. We have also had other smaller projects done by them and have always been satisfied.

We love Mount Baker Remodeling! They've redone most of our house over the past 4 years and we especially love our new cheery kitchen and our now-awesome water pressure from replacing our old sketchy plumbing. The work is all top notch, done in a timely manner, and everyone is so nice. Great prices too! We always joke they're the reason our house is still standing, and it's really true.

We chose Mt. Baker remodeling for a fairly extensive remodel last year. They finished our unfinished basement and made a number of changes on the main floor of our house as well. We are extremely pleased with the result - it looks like a brand new house. Their work is top notch - high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our project was in a very old home and the challenge was to transform a walkout space into a basement apartment that didn't feel like one. He succeeded in every way and was a pleasure to work with. Mount Baker Remodeling did a beautiful job of implementing our vision in restoring a 1920s house we were preparing to sell. The final result was gorgeous and attracted loads of attention from potential buyers. It was a pleasure working with Lawrence and his crew throughout the process. As with all contractor experiences, there were negotiations on details, and these were always handled with professionalism and good will.

Mt. Baker remodeling worked to make us a new bathroom in our basement, motivated to have a senior citizen friendly shower room and deep soaking tub. It involved lots of digging, pouring footers and concrete, design issues of how to pump from below the sewer line, etc. In fact we found some weakness in the foundation where the original owner had added an addition, and they solidified it. In the end the bathroom is beautiful, and the tile like a work of art, and the windows bring in so much light. It adds a lot to our experience, and helps us take care of our elderly parents. When there were any issues, they came back quick and friendly service to fix them. Highly recommend.

We've hired Mount Baker Remodeling to do two major jobs on our house. The first was a complete basement remodel where they built a 2 bedroom mother-in-law apartment in our basement. We liked working with them so much that we hired them two years later to gut and remodel our kitchen. On both projects, design to execution, Lawrence and his team were professional, helpful, thoughtful, communicative, responsive, fair and easy to work with.
