We have worked alongside Maggie and the MOT Design team on 4 different projects. Each time the project was executed flawlessly. MOT Designs did a makeover of my dingy, unused basement playroom and turned it into a brightly lit, updated comfortable living area for playing pool and watching TV. The design team, headed by Maggie O'Toole, came up with a great floor plan, utilizing many of my existing pieces and artwork. On top of the great design, Maggie and her team came in and did the overhaul, soup to nuts, in a few days time. Quick turnaround, very professional, reasonably priced. I am so pleased with the results.

Maggie has the keenest eye for design and customer preference! I’ve moved around a lot the past 10 years and finally found a home to call my own that I really wanted to make feel like a HOME. She got a sense of the style I liked based on pictures I sent and listened to my feedback when she sent me examples of different pieces of furniture and accessories. What she was able to throw together was totally my vibe. It’s been over 2 years and I’m still loving it and feeling cozy and at home. Can’t recommend her enough.

We used MOT twice to refresh/style two Brooklyn apartments. She was amazing! She knew exactly what to do to make the space seem cozy, personal and stylish. She stayed within our budget (which was no small task - we had a lot we wanted to do a not a lot to spend on it!) Both times we were blown away by the product. She has an amazing eye and knows exactly what to do to make the space feel like home. Cannot recommend her enough!

I cannot recommend MOT Designs highly enough. I have worked with MOT Designs on a number of projects, including converting rooms in our apartment to bedrooms for my son and daughter, an apartment living room redo-refresh and furnishing a home in a short period when e unexpectedly left our NYC apartment for the suburbs during COVID. Each experience has been better than the last. First of all, the results are always amazing. Maggie has an incredible eye, sense of design, and knowledge of the available resources and choices. I wouldn't even know where to begin with each project, and Maggie always listens to me, takes into account my family's needs and aesthetics, curates a vision board and then executes the design/installation from order to anchoring furniture. Maggie lets me be as involved as much (or as little) as I want to be. Maggie truly transformed our apartment and our home into beautiful, livable, warm oases for our family. Second of all, Maggie is easy to work with, professional, trustworthy and respectful at every turn. She always listened to me and my husband, very much respected our budget and kept us very in the loop in that regard. She was also incredibly respectful of our goals and priorities with our space, including our child-related safety concerns (e.g., working with furniture that was easily securely anchored, avoiding sharp or fragile pieces, etc.). Third, MOT Designs offers an incredible value - the design fee is imminently reasonable, particularly when I think about the hours of stress and time I would have spent on my own. Further, Maggie is great at mixing high and low-end items and didn't hesitate to suggest less expensive options where available. She was also incredibly resourceful in repurposing items we already had. I highly recommend working with MOT Designs on any of your design projects, whether you are redoing a room or furnishing an entire home.

We bought our first apartment in New York two years ago and worked with Maggie to make the most of the space - she was an invaluable help throughout the process. We started working together prior to moving in, when the apartment was still being finished, and we worked together for several months until our new apartment finally felt like a home. The highlight of Maggie's work, which probably still attracts the most attention from guests today, was a custom shelving unit built around our TV that Maggie designed and installed as the centerpiece of the living room. Other things she worked on that we constantly appreciate: painting bedroom and bathroom walls (including a brilliant suggestion for an accent wall that we wouldn't have thought of on our own), printing and mounting photographs on acrylic, designing custom fabric dining chairs, and coordinating closet installation. She also helped us to select important furniture items including a sectional sofa that we are very happy with. And working with her meant deliveries and installations were smoothly coordinated without nearly as much effort as they otherwise would have required. Lastly, she put a lot of effort into understanding our design inspirations and tastes and to going through artwork, rugs, furniture and decorative items that we already had, in order to make the most of them and to blend them with new flavors. I learned a lot about design in the process of working with her, and would highly recommend her!
