Megan Crawley Designs

Megan did the furniture design of several rooms in my Brooklyn house, as well as my office. She is a pleasure to work with: responsive and easy-going. She has fantastic taste and sometimes pushes me to take risks but really honors my preference and vision. Any time I just let her choose something, she nails it. She is creative and unflappable. I hope to work with her many more times!

We have worked with Megan multiple times including projects in our rental where we loved the work so much we had her recreate much of the work in our duplex we purchased in Brooklyn. Megan has influenced pretty much every room in our home- our office, kids rooms, living room, outdoor space. She also helped us remodel our bathroom. Megan is fantastic to work with and I have recommended her already to many of my friends and family. Megan worked with us through complications of Covid, and is effective in person or remotely to drive projects to completion. Simply put, Megan is a true star who you will enjoy working with on your project.

Megan has done many projects for my family- ranging from full room makeovers to very complicated bathroom remodels as well as minor furniture/accessory purchases to spruce up a space. She is extremely easy to work with, very thorough in her approach and has the ability to both put her own thoughts and ideas forward while respecting the client's (me!) strong sense of what works. She also works very well with contractors who often try to steam roll designers- her ability to communicate with the "trade" is very helpful. I would strongly recommend Megan for projects big and small!

Megan was a delight to work with. She was alway responsive , thoughtful, creative, a real pro! She helped me decorate two two bedroom apartments, the first a rental, the second a condo. She helped select furniture —new and antique— rugs, fabrics, wall treatments, lighting, decor. She oversaw co tractors, electricians, painters, reupholsters— all of whom did excellent work. Both projects were delivered on time and on budget during the pandemic! Just as importantly, I am thrilled with the eclectic look of the condo, which is a reflection of my taste but greatly enhanced and refined by Megan’s aesthetic and expertise. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Megan designed my west Chelsea condo pictured on her website. She is very talented, insightful, dependable and easy to work with. A good listener, she also guides the client towards discoveries. It all turned out even better than I’d hoped.

I would recommend Megan to anyone and everyone! We worked with Megan over the course of 5 months to do interior design and style a 4 floor brownstone in Park Slope including indoor and outdoor spaces. As a baseline, Megan is incredibly diligent, responsive and organized, making her really easy to work with. She also really wants you to end up with a product you're happy with which meant staying within the budget and vision we set out, being really creative when we really wanted to reuse a piece and being tireless in her efforts to track down pieces we really loved that were out of stock / unavailable. Most importantly, she has a really great eye, but she adapts her style to you. When we walk through our house now, what we feel is that we could not have done this without her, but that it is entirely us. This isn't just a pretty house that anyone could live in, but so much of it is really unique to us. Everyone comments on how beautifully put together this place is and I really credit that to Megan. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how much I love this house! I really can't say enough wonderful things about her!

Megan helped me completely redecorate my living room, dining area and office. She was very quick to understand my style and suggest items that fit my aesthetic while also being child-friendly. I loved how she introduced me to new retailers that I hadn't previously been aware of. She is also a pleasant person, always on time and very easy to work with. I enjoyed my experience so much, I recommended her to my sister-in-law who is now working with Megan to redecorate her entire apartment.

I enjoyed working with Megan to layout my new apartment and source furniture and fixtures. She has great ideas and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty when needed!

Megan completely transformed my apartment into what I always wanted it to be! She is as nice to work with as she is professional, and she is RIGHT ON when it comes to everything from furniture to color selection to making the most out of each and every space. Megan was a dream to work with: professional, down-to-earth, and easy to communicate with. We were suffering from decision fatigue--with two young kids and demanding jobs, we felt overwhelmed by the number of choices out there for home design, and lacked the energy and brain capacity to make decisions. Megan listened carefully to what we needed and wanted, and was able to quickly narrow down our choices by creating design boards. She was happy to work with our budget and was very amenable to sourcing pieces that aligned with our style--though she also presented us with options that we would never have thought of ourselves, many of which we ended up using! We found Megan particularly helpful in finding items that matched the scale of our living room and allowed us to make the most of limited space. Now that our living room is done, we can't help wishing that she had done all of the other rooms in our apartment too! We would absolutely hire her again for future projects.

I had a wonderful and easy experience working with Megan on a small size and small budget project. She was dedicated to making the most out of my living room, and helped to prioritize projects that made the room more functional and more aesthetically pleasing. She was professional and friendly, listened closely to what I wanted, and her suggestions were spot on. After coming over to see my space, she sent over inspiration boards, then once I started with some of the projects, she came to see the progress and make a few more suggestions Throughout the process, she was easily reachable by email and available for last minute questions that came up. Project - Large Studio Apartment requiring complete design & furnishing to rent on Airbnb ****************************************** I hired Megan to design my large studio apartment. The project started from scratch and prior to hiring Megan, I thought I could decorate and furnish the apartment on my own. Boy was on wrong! I barely got past the first step of picking out basic furniture before realizing how much effort and attention to detail it required to really make an apartment look great and stand out. First step was meeting with Megan to review the space and discuss the type of style that I wanted the design to be. She then sent me some design boards to give me a sense of the inspiration that she'd be following in picking out specific decorations and furniture. Based on measurements she'd taken of my apartment, she was able to send a layout showing where every item would be placed. This was perfect and gave me a good idea of how the end design would look. She then sent a detailed cost breakdown of how much each item would cost keeping my budget in mind. Once I approved the estimate, she was then able to send a presentation with all items picked out with direct links to the retailers. She gave 2 options in which I could source the responsibility for her to purchase the items or I would be the one to purchase the items. I chose the latter and in retrospect, I wish I had just allowed Megan to buy the items since I had dragged my feet a bit in buying all the furniture & decorations. Despite me taking a long time to purchase everything, Megan was very patient and never made me feel rushed. But, she was able to give me the professional nudge needed to ensure I was able to get my apartment ready for occupancy in the time frame I communicated at the beginning of our project. Megan was great at communicating and would let me know ahead of time what her schedule would be in order to align plans. Part of her service was to be present at the apartment when the furniture was delivered and assembled to ensure all items ordered were correct and this is also when the staging began. Fast forward to present day, my apartment was listed on Airbnb right before New Year's eve, and I've received 15 bookings already. All of the requests that I've received had comments about how fantastic the apartment looked. Despite the apartment being on the 4th floor of a walk-up building(no elevator), the design and furniture layout based on Megan's professional vision has made my apartment highly sought after on Airbnb. The goal of my review was to show some of the detailed technical aspects that comes along with Megan's service. That is an important for me when hiring someone for their professional expertise. Combine that with the fact that Megan is so professional and down to earth made my experience 5 stars.
