I have admired Martin's work at both the One of a Kind and the National Home Shows for several years. When I was ready with a project, I did not hesitate to contact him. I'm very pleased with the coat closet that he designed and built for me. His attention to detail is impressive. The closet fits perfectly into the space, the wood grain alignment is aesthetically pleasing and the finish matches the other pieces in the room. He asked for and considered my ideas throughout the process from design to installation, something that I very much appreciated as it was not always the case with other professionals in the past. It's obvious that Martin cares about his customers and the work that he's doing for them. I highly recommend him for your woodworking project.

We are absolutely delighted with the custom console table/ dinner table Martin designed for us for our new condo. His woodworking skills are amazing but just as strong is his ability to translate our needs and taste into an exquisite custom piece. We knew it would be beautiful based on his work and portfolio he shared with us at the One of A Kind Show. But he exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful experience working with Martin through the whole journey. He is a professional, extremely talented from both a design and build perspective and puts his client first. His attention to detail with the final product is incredible. We highly recommend Martin if you are looking for exquisite, custom woodwork.

Martin installed shelves and cabinets unit around our living room fireplace and study alcove, a built-in walnut desk surface, and walnut front hall cabinet as part of a renovation. He communicates thoroughly, and provided detailed designs to review to make sure we had agreed on the details. He is thoughtful and meticulous in his work, is passionate about the materials he is using, and very concerned about providing the highest quality. My house is 1920s irregular, and they put a lot of effort into planning and adjusting the shelves and cabinets to conceal all the inconsistencies. We love the result!

Martin is a pleasure to work with. We have worked on several projects varying in scale together. Each one has left the Client and myself extremely happy. Martin's attention to detail surpasses expectation. His love for his work exudes from his finished products. He doesn't hesitate to go above and beyond. We had been looking for the right piece of art for our bright hallway. We came across Martin at the Toronto home show and loved his furniture so much we switched our plans to a hall table. Martin designed a live-edge, silver maple hall table for us. The care he took to make sure the proportions worked for the space and the high quality of his craftsmanship meant we got the best of both worlds - a beautiful piece of furniture that friends always compliment as a piece of art. We are beyond happy with Martin's table, it was a pleasure meeting him and working with such a thoughtful artist.

We couldn't be more pleased with the presentation and finish furnished by Martin's careful eye and workmanship. Every experience from the opportunity to personally select the material to the flawless tongue oil top coat exemplifies true "old world" craftsmanship, we've enjoyed many many compliments on their presentation in our home.

Martin Vendryes just delivered a beautiful, custom-designed, hand-crafted mirror that he built for our condo. We were very impressed with the quality of the mirror, and Martin was great to work with!

We were fortunate enough to work with Martin (Owner at Martin C. Vendryes Woodworking) on a recent renovation project, on which we were the General Contractor. I am originally from the Southwest of England and worked mainly in traditional building circles, learning a true appreciation for craftsmanship and a dedication to produce the perfect piece in many different applications. Having worked alongside those I consider to be some of the best trades in the business back home, I can say with absolute assurance that Martin carries the same drive and dedication and is not willing to settle for anything less than excellence in his trade. His attention to detail is flawless and his understanding of traditional practices in order to achieve the highest standard of craftsmanship is something that myself and the rest of the crew found very impressive. Martin’s scope of work on our project was to design and build a bookshelf with many integrating parts in a very compact and difficult space. In respect to the other aspects of the project, due to the space he had to work with, Martin’s bookcase was the task that we all agreed was the most testing and least desirable in terms of installation. This however, did not deter Martin, and as he started to construct the bookcase, it was a pleasure to watch each piece slide together perfectly. What made this more impressive was the fact that after taking initial site measurements and constructing a template, Martin took this information and constructed the bookcase back at his shop, some 2 hours away from site. A true testament to his attention to detail and preciseness. Martin clearly communicates the needs of his client and his scope of work and was always willing to discuss options and next steps with the project whenever necessary. Martin was a real pleasure to work with on our home renovation project. He designed and built a very unique custom bookcase for us. His design, craftsmanship, meticulousness and attention to detail were superlative. Even though our new space has many showstopper elements, Martin's bookcase steals the show. He built it offsite and despite that it was millimeter perfect. We were so pleased with his work that we have since asked him to design and build a small writing desk and a large dining room table with wood reclaimed from our 162 year old house. I'm worried that giving him such a glowing review will cause me problems in the future when we want to tackle the renovation for the kitchen!
