I hired Mark to refinish two antique blanket chests that have been in our family for a few generations. Mark loves wood, knows wood, and has a deep understanding of how to restore antiques. He took so much time making sure he found the perfect stain and finish. He just wanted to make sure we were completely happy with his work. The before and after pictures are amazing. Mark is just totally professional and truly passionate about his work.

WoolseyWorks refinished and repaired a dining table that has been in our family for over 100 years. The work involved repairing several leaves that had warped with age, replacing missing and broken hardware, and refinishing the surface. The work was exceptional. Mr. Woolsey even came up with an ingenious improvement allowing a tighter fit when all leaves were in place. The color of the final finish is magnificent. We are proud to know that this table will remain a family treasure for many years to come.

Mark has done several projects for us over the years. He built a coat rack in our hallway that is not only beautiful but incredibly functional. He hand-crafted an ottoman featuring a needlepointed emblem of my wife's college on the seat that is an heirloom we'll keep forever. He has done other work for us throughout our house (fixing a mailbox post; repairing shelves; fixing doors that needed reworking) and we have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone - we will continue to work with him moving forward!

I contracted Mark with Woolsey Works for a very large scale commercial project up in Mount Adams (restaurant). I cannot begin to describe the level of satisfaction we have in regards to the way this project turned out. We hired Mark to build a complex set of shelves and cabinetry in a very uneven space. He provided vision, a timeline, a fantastic sense of style, and completed the project with every an extremely high level of detail and craftsmanship. Mark embodies the word 'custom' and has a real sense of pride in the projects he is involved with. He has a pretty sweet mustache too.

Mark refinished two antique chairs that have hand carved details. He reglued them and restored them to their original elegance. In the process Mark found original markings that helped us understand that these family heirlooms were part of a set of eight chairs. Mark was very quick and clearly loves what he does. He is a talented craftsman who is knowledgeable and provides excellent counsel on what should be done with a piece of furniture. He is efficient and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Mark for any woodworking or furniture restoration project.

I bought my 1906 Queen Anne Victorian about 4 years ago. Although she had great bones and fundamentals, I had dreams and ideas about how to bring her back to life. Mark Woolsey helped me realize those dreams. He installed wainscoting in my dining room and my stairwell, bead board wainscoting in my downstairs bathroom, helped me design and then installed a kitchen island, built an entertainment center, also with bead board for my family room, has installed pegboard in my house and garage, hooks, towel bars, etc. No job has been too minute or too great. Although at times, he might have thought some of my ideas were crazy, he never said so - he would pause, I would see his wheels turn and then he'd say, "yes, I think we can do that" - music to my ears. He is a renaissance man and a perfectionist - if he doesn't know how to do something, he investigates, figures it out and then does it - I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

My wife wanted new stools to compliment our newly renovated kitchen / family room. This is the focal point of our home and the remodel included very upscale amenities. I searched and could not find something that complimented the beauty, quality and uniqeness of the room. Mark went out of his way to design and build quaity in a very limited timeline. In Mark I found a one of a kind complimentary and beautiful design that will be a valued heirloom to our family for many generations.

Mark did an amazing job refinishing the damaged surface of a buffet given to me by my parents. It was a perfect match, done on time and for a very reasonable fee..... along with a bonus tour of his workshop!
