Tikal completed tile work and the quality was substandard. The cuts were not straight, tile was chipped in multiple places, grout was missing in areas, grout had tons of pin holes, the shower pan was wavy and very uneven, and my carpet was left sticky. I told Rudy I wanted to talk to him about the poor quality, before anymore work proceeded. His crew restarted work and I had to stop them and tell them to leave. By that time, they had already drilled a hole in a tile, which is not where we wanted it. They also lost an electrical outlet cover and tried to hide it, by leaving it uncovered behind a bed, which is a safety hazard. Daily, he would say he was going to stop by to talk with his crew and would not show up…not a project manager, hence why the work ended up being subpar. Then I accidentally overpaid him by $1,000 because the work took so long and forgot I made a deposit. I asked him for the money back and he ghosted me. I would not recommend Tikal for tile work. The fact he ghosted me and knew he was overpaid showed his dishonesty. He seemed like a genuine guy at first, but the true side came out when he was not honest about returning the money and the substandard work.
