Marcia designed an island for our kitchen with a granite top which included a new floor and back splash as well as the same granite for the existing counter. She integrated the additions into the space and existing cabinetry. She understood our taste and worked with us to create a functional and stunning addition to our home. She is creative, talented and intuitive. To boot, her contractor and other people are impeccable, as is she. Best of all, she tells you how long it's going to take and in fact, that's how long it takes! It was a dream to work with Marcia and we will work with her again.

Marcia is an outstanding interior designer. She not only has great creativity and an extraodinary vision, but also, she has a wonderful ability to actually LISTEN to what the client wants, and make sure that the cleint's ideas are fully honored as the work is done. Marcia also is a terrific project manager. She has an excellent ability to coordinate with all team members (architect, contractor, subcontractors, etc.) to make sure that every facet of the project is done properly, and in a timely manner. Marcia Butler is nothing less than an artist. She completely rearranged and styled my psychotherapy office. Watching her work was like watching a magician. In no time at all she transformed the place. My patients were delighted with the new sense of warmth and the focus on the art. Marcia also redid my bedroom and my den at home. With paint and fabric she gave both rooms a brighter more spacious feeling. Her remarkable artistic editing and styling gave new life to my art collection and made both rooms so delightful that I had to keep running in to see them after she was finished. Moreover, she managed to get all this work done extremely efficiently and quickly.

I needed my kitchen redone from scratch and only had a few scattered pieces of ideas and preferences of my own. Marcia built on those few thoughts, coaxed a few more out of me and brought many of her own -- and the result is a complete, brand-new kitchen with a cohesive vision and a great mix of design and practicality (with more storage than such a small space should ever have been able to accommodate). To maximize space, she wanted to take over an underused spare room adjoining the kitchen. I wanted to keep that room...and Marcia heard me and came up with the perfect compromise to steal just a couple of feet from the space and still leave me enough to keep the extra room practical. That sort of thing feels like exactly what you want in a designer.

Marcia is a creative gem. She pays great attention to detail and helped with the renovation and design of our apartment. Her knowledge and expertise as a designer along with her keen sense of style and artistry transformed our apartment.

Marcia Butler is a wonderful designer and a delight to work with. She is very skillful at "listening between the lines" and was able, through her thoughtful questioning, to help us understand how to best accomplish a troublesome bathroom renovation that had us flummoxed for many years. Marcia's design concept, her wide-ranging knowledge of materials and sources, and her meticulous attention to detail all contributed to transforming our eyesore bathroom into one that makes me happy every moment I am in it. Marcia is the best of the best when it comes to creating a beautiful space. When we decided to move to a brand new office last summer, Marcia handled all of the communication between the building, electricians, painters and other contractors. She took the project from construction site to finish. Marcia goes above and beyond to make sure projects are seamlessly executed and has a true gift for managing all vendors and staff. The process, which took a few months, was painless on our end. She handled everything! She took our wishes, ideas and vision and turned them into something grand. I first worked with Marcia Butler in 2003, when I engaged her to help me with bathroom and kitchen renovations and the general “sprucing up” of my apartment, and I have worked with her on various smaller projects (including creation of a new bedding treatment and construction of a cabinet to hold CDs) since that time. Marcia has everything it takes to be a wonderful interior designer: a great eye, the willingness and ability to listen to her client, high standards regarding work quality and materials, a creative approach to problem-solving, and respect for her client’s budget. She also seems to have boundless enthusiasm for her work, and that enthusiasm is contagious. Simply stated, it is a joy to work with her.

Marcia Butler is a brilliant designer and project manager. After meeting with us and listening to our vision for the space, she created the design. She beautifully interpreted our wishes and was amenable when we suggested changes. We always had the notion that our interests were the most important element in the project. Marcia handled all aspects of our renovation including liaising with the co-op board and management company, ordering and inspecting fixtures from all vendors, daily conversations with the contractor, and site visits. She was unflappable when issues arose and found creative ways to solve problems. Our project was very budget specific and Marcia always respected that. We also had a tight deadline and the renovation was completed on time. Marcia has a very upbeat attitude and is always confident, respectful, and calm. You could not ask for a more professional designer with the eye of an artist than Marcia Butler.
