Knight Color & Design was created to meet the needs of a niche market looking for an updated and smarter approach to traditional full-service interior design. With access to thousands of ideas via the internet, clients find materials and finishes they like, but lack the fundamentals of design and color to pull it all together. My business model is different. In fact, you might even consider me a personal "design coach." Forget the idea of a stuffy, overpriced designer, my services are accessible to everyone. You control the cost. I want to understand your vision, and help create a home that will be remain stylish over time. My strength is creating timeless interiors, which means choosing colors and finishes that optimize your long term investment. I specialize in material and product selection for remodeling and new build projects. Creating a timeless home means selecting the correct materials, fixtures and finishes. These decisions separate a timeless home from a home that will be outdated in 5-7 years. With smart design selections at the foundation level, a home can move effortlessly with the trends and not get stuck in them. So what is a design coach? Think of me as the friend you call when you have to make a design decision and want to get it right the first time. I am a resource you can tap into when you feel overwhelmed with your Houzz/ Pinterest ideabooks, want clarification with the "big" picture, and need help making a decision. My objective is to bring efficiency to the selection process, offer savvy trend/color knowledge, problem solve and help ease the stress so the design process can be fun again.

I am exactly the type of client that Lynde describes in her profile and she is the PERFECT solution for me! I am well into a home remodel (kitchen, entryway, fireplace, exterior) and have been feeling overwhelmed with all the decisions I'm making. I read and search and create Ideabooks until I am blurry-eyed, finally make a decision, and then lay awake nights second guessing myself. This is likely to be the only big remodel I will do, and I need my money and my choices to last. Like others have said, I wish I had found Lynde earlier in the process -- she is AMAZING! I sent her some photos before she came to my home and she arrived 100% prepared with ideas that were totally on point. With her warm, down-to-earth style, she confirmed things I was questioning, floated new ideas, and eliminated bad ones. We walked around my partially-gutted home and worked down my list of questions/decisions in a couple of relaxed and fun hours. Lynde really understood my lifestyle and aesthetic so that her advice was perfect for me. Her fee is very reasonable and I will definitely be contacting her for more input as needed. It is a HUGE relief to know that I have her in my corner to bounce ideas off of and steer me in the right direction. Now I can finally have the fun everyone says I should be having as I make my house the home of my dreams. Yaaaaay Lynde!

I worked with Lynde Knight on our master bathroom, and I highly recommend her. She is very easy to work with, has a great eye for details, is able to suggest a range of design solutions, and she works with wonderful people. She has provided a good selection of ideas, tile, paint, as well as solutions for our master bathroom and it turned out amazing. Lynne is easy to work, always available for advice and she made sure I was satisfied with the design. Her professionalism and patience makes her a pleasure to work with.

There are many ways to use design services, I needed a design coach; someone who could guide me quickly and efficiently under a shoe string budget. Lynde was the perfect fit for me. I had a general idea of the things I liked and color scheme I wanted but putting them all together and having my home flow from room to room is where I needed her the most. I like whites and beiges for a clean but soft feel. After putting my samples together I noticed things were not blending the way I wanted. Within an hour and a half we had paint colors, tile and grout colors vanities, and floor stain colors picked out. Her color recommendations for grout and paint is what ultimately resulted in the flow I was looking for but could not figure out. On a personal note, she is very kind and easy to work with. I was appreciative that she told me her honest opinion about my design/color ideas and what she didn't think would work rather than just agree with me. I highly recommend Lynde.

Lynde did a consultation for our kitchen and living room remodel. She gave honest opinions and was very thoughtful and encouraging. I appreciated how she respected our particular style and did not pressure us to change our concept or alter the big picture. Lynde’s ideas and recommendations resulted in our living area having a warm, coordinated and updated look. There were certain things in the space that she had to consider and work around (brick, wood and floor color) – Lynde did a wonderful job of making it all come together. We had a second project in mind and our plan was to begin that next year. We asked Lynde for her thoughts – her ideas were brilliant and reasonable. I will forever look back on my home reconstruction in two periods, the before and after Lynde. Before Lynde, I was stressed and overwhelmed trying to coordinate all the finishes on our rebuild. After Lynde, I was able to see a vision for our new home in terms of color and finishes, and all the worry over whether or not I was choosing the right thing finally subsided. Lynde shopped with me and helped me select tile, flooring, vanities, countertops, and hardware. She understood the limitations of my budget, but without making it a limiting factor. She has a great aesthetic, both timeless and elegant, and her color sense is on point. While working with her, I even learned how to pick up on the undertones behind colors--something I'd never noticed before. She helped us select all our paint colors for both inside and outside our home, and I am complimented on our colors every time someone comes over. And best of all, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is easy to talk to, warm, and kind. I joked that she should call herself a construction-counselor because she does such a great job putting her clients at ease. And her reasonable hourly rates make it easy to bring her on for smaller projects, too. I am looking forward to working with her on selecting my furniture. I love having the security of knowing that when I invest in pieces for my home, they are all going to come together under Lynde's guidance. My only regret is not meeting her sooner!
