Peake Green Design

We hired Chesapeake Green Design to design our "forever home." We couldn't be more thrilled with the design. We are in Vienna, MD, with a water view lot and a gorgeous view on the Nanticoke River. The design gives spectacular views with a family room on the second floor and the screened porch across the front of the house. Lee Weldon was pure genius in his design for our small lot. The house is energy efficient with plenty of light. It is designed for us to age in place with wide doors. It was built by Browhan and Brooks. Love it

There are several design elements that Lee recommended that worked very well in our redesigned kitchen and dining room. His recommendation for a balcony over the dining room extension was fantastic. He listened to our thoughts and provided input and suggestions that were very helpful. He met our timelines and was generally available throughout the project for questions. He missed the mark on the support beans in the ceiling - probably an over abundance of caution - but structurally unnecessary as per the building inspectors and the general contractor. This added to the cost, delayed construction, and made it difficult for the plumbing. The end product is a fantastic beautiful functional kitchen and dining room. Thanks

Lee with Chesapeake Green Design has been a major part of my home project as he has taken all of our ideals and put them on paper through many redesigns. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to take on a custom project with a lot of custom demands. As far as budget and timeliness I would highly recommend.

Lee Weldon did an amazing job with our renovation. He had a great eye for being able to see the overall layout of a sizable first floor reconfiguration, and was always timely with follow-through.

Chesapeake Green Design provided a set of plans for an extensive home renovation. We worked through several iterations of the design to come up with a solution that is both practical and efficient. This renovation impacted 2/3 of the existing home taking it down to studs. Included were exterior siding replacement, window replacement, HVAC replacement, and hot water heat replacement. The renovation included flipped the dining kitchen spaces, converting an inlaw suite into a master suite, created a 4 season room where a screened in porch was, and expanded the deck on this waterfront home. Chesapeake Green was helpful in both design flow, design continuity energy efficiency improvement, and providing cost effective design alternates when our design ideas became too expensive for our budget.

While we already had our design for our workshop/artist studio in mind, Lee drew up our project so that it sailed through getting the building permit, and we had no changes necessary as the building went up due to insufficient knowledge of local codes. So important when you are acting as your own GC! Lee was very responsive and timely to our needs. Great to work with!

Thanks for being so flexible when we had some hiccups with the set backs, and you rolled with the punches and found the solution. Lee Weldon is an excellent designer. We have used him on several projects with great success. His background working within the industry gives him a realistic perspective that he uses to ensure that his design is not only attractive, but also buildable with a minimum of waste. Chesapeake Green Design was recommended by my contractor. I was looking for someone to design an addition to an older home and wanted the addition to blend in with the original home. I am so happy with the finished product and have received so many compliments with the layout. Working with an older home and limited property line had some challenges, but it turned out to be more than I expected. I had talked to an architect, but the fee was more than I was prepared to pay. Chesapeake Green Design was very reasonably priced and easy to work with. It also helped that I had a great contractor to work with. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The plans Chesapeake Green Design came up with are excellent. We expected to need a large addition, but Lee developed a design that re-imagined much of our existing space and at the same time incorporated all of the features we requested (and then some). This ended up being critical for meeting permit requirements. We're looking forward to starting the build.

Lee is terrific. we used him to make some changes on an existing set of plans and he brought some new ideas and better use of space than we had, so we ended up having him re-design the house and we couldn't be happier we the results. Lee set out a timetable in the beginning and stuck close to it. He has a warm and welcoming personality, He is responsive and he actually listens to what you want. Lee is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He gave us many ideas we hadn't even considered and incorporated them into our conceived plan. He's very handy with the computer and could create or change ideas as we were watching. He worked very well with our contractor. I think Lee's greatest accomplishment was creating what we wanted while keeping within the parameters dictated by the historic society. He was well prepared when we presented the plans to the historic committee and we actually breezed through.. There's been a lot of follow up and Lee has always been willing to tweek any to the ideas he presented. I would whole hardly recommmend Lee to anyone starting a remodeling project and would call on him again if I were to do another

My house was damaged by a falling tree from a hurricane and it gave me the opportunity to change some things. I never imagined the improvements that could be made within the existing structure and budget! Chesapeake Green Design was so helpful and creative, I really can't say enough. I ended up with a beautiful space, much more energy efficient, and designed so well that the electrical and plumbing came in far under projected cost. They incorporated my ideas and theirs seamlessly, and always showed complete attention to detail and customer service. Entirely pleased.

Lee did a great job from start to finish. It was the busy time of year, early Spring, and he made the extra effort to get the plans completed in a timely fashion. He responded quickly to email and phone calls and worked with our schedule to hold meetings. We are scheduled to begin building in the Fall2016 and expect that Chesapeake Green will still be consulting with our builder.

We hired Chesapeake Green Design to design a second floor addition to our house. They were knowledgeable and worked within our budget and timeframe (both of which were tight). They monitored the job, had great suggestions along the way, and on top of that they are great people to work with. I recommend them, and in fact some of my friends have already hired them!

We found Lee Weldon very quick to grasp our needs and was thorough in his research of building codes and requirements. He researched materials that we had requested. Our only concern was that he needed more details and specifications on the drawings. We had no problem with Easton's Building Department approving his drawings. We would recommend his firm for future work.
