The practice of Charles Louwerse Architects was established in 1982. We are a small practice based in Sherborne, offering a professional, individual and personal architectural service for buildings of all sorts, primarily residential, within the South West of England. We have much experience of new build, extensions, conversions of barns and agricultural buildings and remodelling, not just residential, but also in the fields of hotels, industrial, office refurbishment and sustainable design and building.

We needed an extension to our cottage that met our needs, was sympathetic to the property and its surroundings and satisfied the rigors of the planning process, made harder as the cottage is a listed building. Charles Louwerse Architects created a beautifully functional and attractive design. And, through a competitive tender process that they organised, introduced us to an excellent builder. Throughout the project, Charles Louwerse Architects were flexible and professional, helping to maximise the potential of the site. コメント：Does anyone know where they got their rough wood beams from?Hello Sarah. These old green oak roof trusses and purlins were from the existing barn before conversion. The contractor used a wire brush to clean them up!

コメント：Door unit.Hi Suzanne. The door is joinery grade oak (finished with Osmo oil). The frame is green oak (unfinished and left to go grey).
