Born and raised in the Seattle area, Laura began working on interior design projects in the nineties and enjoyed “fixing things up” on weekends. Living by Laura was founded, and has been remodeling homes for over twenty years now. Laura enjoys working with older homes and mid-century northwest style. World travels have influenced and enhanced her eye for design. Many styles of the Pacific Northwest come from Japanese and Scandinavian heritage, but we will work towards your unique vision. "I begin my design process with an inspirational piece from my client —perhaps a teacup, a photo, a special gift, an heirloom— then move toward a personalized solution of function and beauty." With an eye towards maximizing function in small & surprising spaces, Laura loves to utilize simple solutions to solve large working issues. Living by Laura believes in creating spaces that are comfortable, inviting, and reflective of our client’s lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to refresh one part your home or completely remodel, Living By Laura has the expertise and resources to make it happen.

Words cannot express the value of having Laura work with you on a project. Her insight and creative mind helped me sell two homes above market value by understanding the person's (buyer's) wants and needs. She listened to what I wanted and without hesitation, gave me her professional opinion whether I would like it or not. She truly had my best interest uppermost on her mind.

Laura helped me to design a new kitchen layout. My kitchen is much improved in efficient use of space and easily accommodates 2-3 people working together. Laura also helped me to pick all the materials. It was so helpful to have a professional help guide me especially with colors. She and her assistant, Paige, listened to my ideas, contributed their own ideas and the result is that I absolutely love my kitchen! I have not seen another kitchen that I like better than my own.

Laura was so easy to work with. I had a basic idea of colors I wanted to use but it was feeling a little overwhelming on my own. By asking questions and showing me some different options she nailed the look I was after. Laura listens to what you want and asks the right questions to really understand your needs. I couldn’t be happier with what she did.

Laura has been a gift when it comes to caring for and updating our church. She has helped us purchase and arrange furniture to create two comfortable and practical lounge spaces in our community with only a VERY small budget and created a color pallet and design plan to help guide all future projects in a cohesive way. Laura listens to your wants and needs and her sense of humor makes working with her a joy.
