Thayer Architecture Inc. is an award-winning architectural firm located in Marin County, CA, committed to serving the needs of homeowners and developers for over twenty years. Specializing in the design of new custom homes, developer-built homes and commercial buildings, we also have extensive experience with remodeling projects and additions to existing buildings. A family business with a long-standing presence in Marin, the firm was founded by John S. Thayer, Architect in 1973 with offices in Mill Valley. Son Kyle A. Thayer, Architect has carried the tradition forward, with offices currently located in San Rafael. In the past forty years we have designed over eighty custom homes, two hundred developer-built residential projects,and nearly one hundred remodels.

We hired Kyle some years ago for an extensive remodeling project of our home on a hillside lot in Mill Valley. He was professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. He listened carefully to our needs and wishes, and came up with innovative architectural solutions on a challenging site. We just moved to a new house in a different city, and turned to Kyle for our remodeling of the master bathroom and to create a better connection from the family room to the rear yard. We are very pleased with his design and communication skills, and would highly recommend Thayer Architecture for any project.
