I hired Kathryn to help me in decorating my home, which was new construction. Kathryn assisted me in identifying and purchasing art, indoor and outdoor furniture, custom fabrics for new dining chairs, outdoor seating and accent pillows, obtaining custom crafted console table, as well as identifying and purchasing accessories throughout my home. Kathryn is extremely friendly, professional and efficient, and she was very responsive to all my needs and requests. Kathryn is great at listening to her client's ideas and presenting several options that fit their needs and their budget. I intend to use Kathryn for all my future design/decorating needs, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Kathryn brought professionalism, taste, know-how and positivity to the job. She ran the remodel and furnishing of my 2500' home. We spend a good amount of time discussing the look I was going for. I never felt like Kathryn imposed her taste on me. She promptly came up with several floor plans and competently ran the construction phase of the job. With my consent, Kathryn sourced the subs and directed them where necessary. When it came time to select finishes and furnishings she provided lots of choices without overwhelming me. She stayed on the all the providers and vendors to make sure they did their jobs. Any issues were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. I am very happy with the final results and the process in general. Kathryn was a pleasure to work with, always very responsive.

I am a Painting Contractor here in Los Angeles and have painted a few very nice projects for Kathryn , one of them being a Gerard Colcord home . I thought I was good at selecting the color palette / scheme until I worked with Kathryn . Wow ! She has a very keen eye and a soft manor about her . What a joy to work for / with . We are almost finished with a 3500 sq. foot condo project with Kathryn. It is remodel in which Kathryn played an integral part with the design and the contractor. We are mostly through the decorating and Kathryn is certainly attuned to the details and has a good working relationship with all the vendors. She is noted for working on elegant residences for entertainment personalities from Beverly Hills to Malibu, and her relationships with her clients are longstanding. She ensures in getting her client's best value, maximizing their budgets, while advising them on timeless design solutions for their particular projects.

We moved to a contemporary house after living in a Tudor, and she helped with the move, getting furnishings sold with an estate seller, then figuring out which pieces to keep. She made sure we could plan around much-loved furnishings, yet update the entire design to reflect our new contemporary open floor plan. She always kept the big picture in mind, even when planning for the smallest details, like changing the cushion color to our Saarinen dining chairs, which actually warmed up the space and tied together the open areas. She listened to us, and how we wanted to use the space, and made suggestions and choices that reflected this. We love the result, and highly recommend her design services.

Having worked with Kathryn on a variety of jobs over the past ten years I can highly recommend her for those looking for a creative and flexible designer with a cool Californian sensibility. Kathryn originally helped us with the design and furnishing (hard and soft) of a small (1500 sq ft) CA cottage in Santa Monica Canyon. We worked with her from the East Coast and found her accommodating and quick to pick up on ideas. She then subsequently designed and led the fit out of a second bedroom and bathroom conversion. This worked extremely well and the bathroom in particular makes maximum use of space for a deep Japanese soaking tub and custom designed sink and cabinets in a very small area. Kathryn can perhaps sometimes take on a little too much -- for example a fold out bed she custom designed for us really didn't work but others of her custom furniture have been just what we wanted -- my advice would be to find something you like and then she can make a copy at the price, and more importantly scale to fit your budget and space. Within the past two years Kathryn helped source materials and advised on finishes for a complete gut remodel of our house. She helped us find an architect which was invaluable and then advised on fixtures and finishes including managing the sourcing of all of the appliances and plumbing fixtures. Working with Kathryn is easy as she always brings plenty of options and often has very creative, high quality ideas -- for example she found some great bathroom cabinets for us. To make the most of working with Kathryn (and with any designer) it helps if you know what you are looking for ;-), and that you can access options yourself to complement what your designer comes up with -- having and idea or two to share can help your designer then come up with alternatives and options Overall I'd happily recommend Kathryn and look forward to working with her on future projects. She is responsive and timely. She can develop options at a range of price points -- but be explicit about your overall budget and as with any project it's good to keep close tabs on things to make sure you are not straying from what you intended

Kathryn was able to identify structural issues in our small apartment that we had not really "seen". Throughout the process, she created floorplans that reflected the original layout and also a new and improved version of that layout. This helped give us a new orientation to our space and to see what she had immediately seen from the pictures we first sent her of our place here on the East coast. Working east coast/west coast was not an issue--she was very easy to communicate with--and we are very glad that we trusted her with our project!
