The customer’s dissatisfaction stems from the purchase of a custom made bathroom vanity delivered on May 26, 2021. The first issue involves the cabinet construction she ordered, which is High Pressure particle board. Evidently, the client was expecting plywood construction rather than this material. Our designer informed management that the client had asked about this upgrade at one time, but did not pursue this option. This upgrade would have added an additional $900-$1000 to the price. In examining this issue, we look at the contract for purchase. The signed contract contained no upgrade or charge for plywood. Clients who want expensive upgrades of this type are very diligent in confirming that these are included in the cabinetry at the time of purchase. No questions confirming plywood construction from the client were received at contract signing. The second issue involves the lack of dovetail drawers in the cabinetry, as were noted on the contract. Simply stated, this was our error and we promptly ordered new drawers from the manufacturer to correct this situation. Given current lead times, these took longer than normal to be received. Once they arrived, we promptly arranged for their installation at the client’s convenience. The client ultimately received what she ordered and signed for in her contract. We did offer her additional compensation for our error in not supplying the correct dovetail drawers, and at the conclusion of the transaction, she seemed pleased with the final outcome.
