Along with being outstanding blacksmith artists, the Maynards are very dedicated members of the community who often give of their time, talents and resources to help others. They volunteered after hours on several nights in the summer of 2018 to build a model bourbon barrel warehouse to display at the Kentucky State Fair in the booth representing Anderson County, where they live. The quality and creativity of their work on any project and their passion for what they do is very inspiring.

Karine and Matt are unbelievably talented individually. As a team, they bring art, design and function together beautifully. The process involved us gathering photos of what we liked, having Karine and Matt tour the space to get a feel for the design and style of the overall project, and Karine sketching ideas to ensure everyone was on same page. Within a week of the first meeting, we were ready to move to the production schedule. Through their experience, Karine and Matt were able offer ideas and add unique touches that go perfectly with the design of our home. Matt was knowledgeable of stairwell building code so not only is our stairwell beautiful to look at, it is solid and we did not have to stress about meeting the safety standards necessary for our home inspection. When meeting Karine and Matt, you will gain a level of confidence that these two can successfully transition your dream from paper to reality.

Karine and Mathew Maynard are unbelievably talented and a pleasure to deal with. They made a one of a kind table base for us that was absolutely beautiful. We have just completed a large scale renovation of a water-front home in Annapolis MD and the final piece to fall into place was a hand forged stair railing for our three level staircase designed and produced by Maynard Studios. We came into contact with Matt and Karine Maynard after seeing a review of their work on HOUZZ and realizing that all our favorite images were produced by them. After exchanging several e-mail messages and having a few phone conversations, we asked the Maynards to propose a design for our home. The design we selected was customized for our specific needs and reflected the water-front nature of the house and surrounding environment. It was simple, yet elegant, highly functional and incredibly creative and beautiful. The Maynard proposal was not only cost competitive with other blacksmiths in our area but the quality of the workmanship and the detailed hand construction far surpassed anything else we saw. The choice was not only easy; it was overwhelmingly compelling. Matt and Karine came to our home twice during the process, once to conduct a detailed survey and measure, and a second time for the installation. From beginning to end, they were delightful to work with and we were always taken by their kindness and thoughtfulness. After seeing quite a number of images of their previous work, we had high expectations, but nothing prepared us for the beauty and quality that actually came with their finished product, a true work of art. Our railing is hand forged steel with a bronze hand cap and decorative touches. It literally steals the show! The Maynards also designed and built an exterior railing for the entry steps and an ingenious towel bar that wraps around a large butcher block table/island that is in the center of our kitchen. We would enthusiastically and unconditionally recommend Maynard Studios to anyone interested in a beautiful hand crafted and unique stair railing designed just for you to fit perfectly into whatever style and space you have in your house.

The craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail is unmatched. The custom work this husband and wife team do is superb. They are creative and visionary. Their designs are simply beautiful. I love working with them and look forward to working with them again soon.

Maynard Studios has been so great to work with. I've been in the process of getting my company, the 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Co., off the ground. I've worked with many, many different vendors to help launch. Many of them have been difficult, at best, to work with. Maynard studios has been an exception. They are great to work with. Maynard studios designed, manufactured and installed two staircase handrails for my house. They were extremely professional and on time. More importantly their design and work is a true work of art. Maynards Studios made a custom piece of furniture for an antique dollhouse that has been in my family for years. We designed it together, using the pictures of how I wanted to display the piece. The visit to their Studio was excellent. The piece is gorgeous, it does not detract from the details of what we're trying to show off while being a beautiful piece in our foyer. Karine and Matt are delightful to work with, incredibly artistic, yet practical. We plan to have more work done by Maynard when we build our next home.
