Due to a recent flood, that required a complete gutting of my basement , I hired Jen to provide a layout for my construction team to follow . I explained my dreams to her; that of turning the formerly 1960's sad, dreary basement into an open bright, multi-purpose area. She was most patient, knowledgable & helpful, asking me about my OWN style and truly worked toward making the space fit my personal vision (and my rather eclectic desires for the overall space). She developed Zones in her 3-D renderings for a new Laundry area, upgraded bathroom, large storage area, grandchildren's playzone and "Creation Station". She also helped in selecting finishes and is working with my contractor to implement the design. Currently, the space is under construction, and I'm truly looking forward to enjoying my updated basement! l'd highly recommend using JHD Design Studio for any renovations or Interior Design projects. Jennifer @ JHD did an amazing job for me planning out the design of my home kitchen remodel. Not only did she advise me on things like color, materials and finishes, but she provided a detailed demolition plan that I could give to my contractor & drafted electrical/plumbing plans and elevations that I needed to provide for building permit applications. Jennifer was quick & attentive to all my needs. She was a joy to work with & I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a designer! I'm currently still in the process of remodeling & will post final photos when the job is completed, but attached here some of the plans JHD Design Studio provided me in the process of my remodel.

Jen Doyle designed our one bedroom den apartment in Washington, DC. She instantly understood our vision and needs- with only one short conversation she was already brainstorming beautiful ideas. Our apartment has a strange orientation which made me nervous, but Jen squashed all my nervousness with detailed diagrams with choices of how our living room and dining area could be set up. She was extremely communicative and showed the vision through multiple visual presentations. The most impressive was how she was able to show us budget options- my fiance and I are both graduate students so we had to work under financial constraints. Jen very quickly made our empty apartment feel like a home! We are grateful everyday for her beautiful work. JHD Design Studio is absolutely the right choice!

We hired Jennifer to update our 25 year old home and just completed phase one which included foyer, living and family rooms. We feel so uplifted in our new elegant and comfortable rooms. We actually want to entertain again! Friends tell us it looks like a home in a design magazine. We are so pleased with our new look, subtle color transformation and how our existing furniture and artwork have been redefined. Our friends and family love everything she's done. She's exceptionally talented, experienced and has a remarkable sense of our design style and personality. What we appreciate most is how easy and fun Jennifer was to work with while she transformed our outdated rooms into new beautiful updated spaces. We recently moved to historic downtown Charleston SC. Knowing our new home’s exterior needed a fresh new look, we turned to Jennifer Doyle for professional advise. We told Jennifer what we were looking for and presented her with a few colors and finishes we liked. Jennifer pulled together visual plans for us. We proposed the blue shutters, mahogany door, metal awning and decorative wrought iron window guards. The BAR approved all our finishes and material upgrades. We are now in the process of installing and can’t wait to complete the work. Jennifer was so amazing and easy to work with. Her visual design was key in helping us move forward. I will hire Jennifer for future design projects and highly recommend her to others as well.

Another fabulous design and execution by JHD Design. Our 25 year old home built as a spec had the typical builder's grade quality construction in our daughter's bathroom. I tried to update myself -- big mistake. Jennifer Doyle's design was sensitive to our goals AND our budget. The formerly sad, outdated, DARK bathroom is now the prettiest room in our home. Now to talk to Jen about the next project . .. . . .

I thouroughly enjoyed working with Jennifer on the remodel of our Kitchen, Laundry room and Master Bath. She came into the project listening to our needs and wants and prompt to return with sketches and visual design ideas that incorporated a look and feel that combined both my husband and my vision; ultimately giving us more storage than we realized we could get in existing space. She understands the clients vision and works to ensure you are happy with your final selection while helping to guide you along the way to ensure you are making solid decisions. I enjoyed the collaborative experience as the project unfolded and seeing the plans as it finally came together. Jennifer's expertise, professionalism and vision ensured the project was run smoothly. The project was completed in a timely manner as materials and supplies were ready as the contractor needed them. I will definitely use Jennifer on future projects and would recommend her to others.

Jennifer Doyle listened to me and “heard” what I was saying about my style. She looked at my existing decor and incorporated excellent pieces with my family’s antiques. She created a very warm, comfortable home in our Old Village cottage. A task that seemed impossible with such formal antiques. She made it look so easy! My husband and son love as much as I do! Our small cottage is so warm and comfortable! 5 stars for JHD Design Studio!

Busy lives and little design skill meant we needed some help. Our home had aged and become very dated. JHD Design to the rescue! Jennifer Doyle started by transforming our boring, sad (and very brown!!) den to a fresh, welcoming and beautiful space perfect for everyday living and entertaining. We were so amazed at the improvement that we asked Jen if she could update our front room which had become an unused space filled with inherited pieces that we loved but gave the room of an old fashioned parlor. You will see in the picture that Jen honored our treasured antiques while putting a modern fresh look on the room. This is now my favorite room in the house and friends gravitate towards it. Our teen daughter was entering high school and we recognized she needed more of a young adult space versus her "little girl" room. The bedroom pic I have included his hers -- pic was snapped after she left for school. She loves her room so much that she keeps it neat and tidy. It is a place of respite and a getaway for laughs with her friends. I HIGHLY recommend Jen for your project of any scale. Jen offers options, stays within budget and handles details from beginning to end. We had considered selling our home but now are staying put because we are so happy to come home to such a beautiful space that reflects us -- NOT cookie cutter out of a magazine or a furniture showroom. We are lucky to have found this caliber of design work who is willing to work within our budget.
