Bummer Lamb Design & Fine Furnishings

My husband and I hired Bummer Lamb to renovate our kitchen and other first-floor rooms in our historic Victorian home. We selected Jennifer Jenkins after talking with numerous designers. Jennifer stood out from the pack for her experience with old homes and unique ability to perfectly blend the best of the old with the necessary conveniences of the new. She helped us select an excellent contractor, Total Build, and together they made our renovation a fantastic experience -- a rare statement for those who have lived through home renovation projects. We couldn't be more pleased with Jennifer's design. It's dramatic and elegant yet comfortable and livable. Throughout the project and beyond, she provided top-notch customer service, design advice and discounts on accessories and furnishings. I really missed her when the project was completed. We're already planning another project for her. I highly recommend Bummer Lamb for any home renovation or new home project!

A few years ago, we bought a beautiful stone house that was built in 1725. My husband and I were eager to take good care of this piece of history and honor it the best we could but we knew we needed help as renovation and design are not our strengths. We hired Jennifer to help make this very special house our home. Jennifer and her husband (Brian Jenkins, a gifted contractor, who proved to be very creative and patient with our old house) teamed up to create a true oasis for us. We often entertain guests at our home and a house tour is always a part of the party! Jennifer worked on many rooms in our house: *Kitchen - total redesign while keeping all of the original stone, wooden beams, fireplaces. Fabulous custom cabinetry by an artist/savant named Lee. :) *Master Suite - total redesign of an addition built in the 1990s. Created a very luxurious master bath with heated floors, clawfoot tub, steam shower, bidet, custom cabinetry by Lee, walk-in closet. The master bedroom boasts what I like to think of as Jennifer's "Sistene Chapel" ceiling. After installing reclaimed wood floors and shiplap ceilings, she faux painted the ceiling to look aged and it is one of the most highly praised parts of our house. The reclaimed ironwork railing on our bedroom stairs and antique candle sconces she had retooled to electric are also highlights for us. *Dining room - Jennifer did a really artful job with this room that was once very nice, but not quite as special as the rest of the cool old house. She put in reclaimed wood floors, shiplap ceilings and beams, cut 2 sets of french doors for natural light, bought gorgeous antiques to furnish the room, found a way to make a large wine refrigerator look appropriate, put in gorgeous wallpaper, and partnered with an artist who faux painted all of trim and chair rail. *Living, family room and den- Furnished with beautiful yet cozy furniture that is a mix of new and antiques. Gorgeous upholstery! Jennifer has been an absolute pleasure to work with and we will continue to work with her as long as she is willing! She is a great listener, very gifted at understanding how a client likes to live and work at home. She is incredibly patient - our house created endless challenges for her due to it's irregular size and materials - and she could not be more dedicated to making her clients happy. We will always be grateful to Jennifer, Brian and their team for giving us our dream home!

My husband and I heard about Jennifer through an acquaintance when we needed assistance in staging for sale a modern home built of masonry and glass which we had lived in for 25 years. The job entailed the entire redecorating of the interior and replacing or redoing some of the furniture as well as redesigning landscaping and the exterior redesign of an accessory building. First, it was a delight to work with Jennifer. She has a very warm and fun personality, which made all the difference in the task we had to accomplish. Also, her patience knew no bounds. Her ideas were excellent, from smaller things such as accessories, fixtures, bedding, paint in selected areas and wall hangings to larger things such as furniture (indoor and out), rugs, redesign of the outdoor building and landscaping. Her knowledge and experience were evident in the items she chose and the resultant effect. For example, she transformed a bedroom by replacement of the right carpeting and a distinctive mirror and a few accessory selections to complement the existing furniture. She transformed a second bedroom by the replacement of the right carpeting, two pieces of furniture and accessories and wall hangings. She did the same with a loft area with a rug, two pieces of new furniture and accessories for the existing sofa. Her knowledge of colors was evident in the choices she made to complement the variegated colors of the interior walls which is ground face aggregate masonry. The remaining three walls of glass in the house connect the interior of the house to the natural environment outside this house. Jennifer expanded on this concept with the interior decorations and the exterior landscaping. Jennifer’s vision and superb selections achieved uniquely designed spaces in and around a uniquely designed house. We then purchased a townhome which required major interior renovations, the renovation of a deck and more selections. Again, Jennifer came to the rescue and helped us create another unique environment. This eased the transition from a house of masonry and glass to a downtown townhome.
