john is very good builder he will listen to your needs and will come with a good plan and very fair pricing . We did our house expansion project with him couple of years ago, and through out the project wee never had any problems. He finished the job exactly as promised , he has excellent crew , very respectful personnel, never crosses line and deal with you very good. The whole work took almost 6 months, but during that time, he made sure the rest of the house is covered well and we could still function at home. He deserves absolute 5 star rating, I will give him more stars , if i could, In the end I even did my whole house generator also with him, and the whole process is so smooth and we used and been using generator all the times , He did enough capacity generator so that I could use my whole house . John pays attention to all the tiny details, deals with the inspections , permits, never cut corners. I am glad we did our house with JCL contracting . Thank you John

We hired John Lehmann six years ago to build our new home. John was the most professional contractor we've met; very organized and detailed and courteous at all times. John always answered our calls and was willing to meet with us to discuss our concerns. I hired JCL contracting to finish my basement and build a bar complete with cabinets, sink and beverage fridges. He did an excellent job coordinating drywall contractor, plumber, electrician, carpenter, and painter. He created a beautiful space the way I envisioned it. John had so many great ideas and he and his team paid great attention to detail and did a fabulous job with the finishing. There was no down time with the contractors; they were there on time each day and left the area meticulous when they left at the end of each day. John's team is professional and knowledgable with many years of experience. Each of the contractors was patient, accommodating and extremely trust worthy. John built my 12000 sq ft house 26 years ago and has always been readily available for renewal projects and emergency repairs. He is a terrific supervisor as well as hands-on craftsman.

We hired John Lehmann and his company after bidding out to a few companies for a home remodel. John helped us through the whole process even before we had hired him, by recommending the architect to start with. He built for us a two floor addition including a new bedroom, master bath, walk in closet and family room. He is knowledgeable about everything related to the process including codes, local town permits, carpentry, windows, roofing, siding, painting, masonry, and finishing. And he is honest about cost and timeline, so we knew upfront what to expect. We enjoyed working with him and his company and recommend him to anyone.

We hired JCL two years ago to completely remodel our kitchen, our master bedroom and bathroom suite, our den and living rooms, and install a new deck off the back of our house/kitchen. During the bid process, John was the most professional and organized contractor we encountered. He always answered his phone or called us back within a few minutes, whereas most others took forever to get back to us. John also gave us personal tours of three of his previous jobs in the Millburn/South Orange/Livingston area, which were impressive and similar in scope to what we were planning. Meeting and hearing such positive reviews from his prior clients helped our decision. He also recommended a handful of great ideas for us to incorporate and he worked really collaboratively with our architect. It was clear from the beginning that John is a veteran contractor with deep roots and connections in the community, which made us feel really comfortable. We also feel it's important to share that, about seven years ago we had a negative experience with a different contractor on a smaller renovation to our previous home. We were younger and somewhat inexperienced and decided to hire the lowest bidder out of four contractors. There's a reason they say "you get what you pay for!" We never made that mistake again. For this project, JCL was somewhere in the middle of our bids but still within our original budget range. His price felt right especially since he laid out all the details so clearly. We did decide to add some upgrades along the way and John made that process very transparent by presenting us with several cost/design options. And most importantly, the finished product has been an absolute dream! We are so thrilled with JCL and wholeheartedly recommend John and his team.

JCL Contracting has done substantial work me over the last 35 years .. Included in those projects are an office building , an office renovation , and , in 2016 , construction of a new home in Towaco, NJ. John Lehmann is a total professional- his work ethic and attention to detail is beyond what can be expected from most General Contractors. We hired JCL Contracting for a kitchen renovation at our home in West Orange, NJ.
