Janco Designs

My husband and I know Maggie well from our days living in Denver and hired Janco Designs to design a garage with guest quarters/office space above. The tricky part was that we now live in Teton County, Idaho! So, the design work was done from afar but you wouldn't know it. Maggie learned the permitting requirements in our area, sourced/priced local materials, obtained the required Idaho structural engineer stamp for us, and coordinated with our local construction contractor without missing a beat. She really listened to what we wanted and came up with an amazing design that was more than we could have ever imagined ourselves. In addition to being a very talented designer, she was patient with our requests to "cost engineer" the design and came up with a plan that was both beautiful and affordable. The design process came in on budget and our building permit was approved on schedule. Phase 1 of the project (the exterior shell, functionality on the garage level, and utilities run to the building) was completed this month for about $12,000 over budget. Not bad! Phase 2 (interior finishes on the second level, insulation & drywall on garage level) is planned for 2015 and we're debating whether to ask Maggie to try her interior design hat on with us too. Thanks to Maggie and congratulations on a job well done. We would recommend her no matter where you live.

My husband and I were considering leasing a commercial space for our business. We were advised by a friend to have a professional look at the space with us. A friend recommend Maggie Janco and her husband Justin, who is a contractor. So thankful that we did! Maggie and Justin assessed the property with invaluable expertise, and took all of our needs and wants under consideration. They were able to very promptly provide us with a comprehensive plan for construction, design ideas, expenses, time expectations, all in great detail. They were also able to alert us to an issue with the building that we were not aware of, that ultimately became the reason that we were not able to go through with the deal. I believe that the Jancos saved us from a potentially financially debilitating situation, and that they were truly looking out for our best interests. When we do find the right space to lease, I look forward to resuming the process with Maggie and Justin, and would highly, highly recommend Janco Designs for any and all design and construction needs.

Working with Maggie was both fluid and effortless. She had a very firm grasp on the permitting and code side of our work as well as the design element. What I appreciated about Maggie the most was that she took the time to learn about my business and how I wanted to move forward with it, including my branding strategies, so that she could create the best design for my needs. She was very responsive to emails and questions and reached out to the city or contractors to answer my questions. I would use her in a heartbeat!

Maggie is extremely patient, positive, professional and talented! She designed a garage with a finished attic office space for me that was exactly what I wanted.
