Tammy Randall Wood, ASID is the founder and principal of Interior Archaeology, a comprehensive interior design firm specializing in interior architectural design and freshly tailored furnishings. With over 20 years of experience, Tammy and her team have designed projects from coast to coast with an emphasis on architectural detail, ranging in scope from new construction to full-scale renovation. Interior Archaeology brings a breezy Southern California approach to elegant, livable interiors. Tammy studied Television and Film at California State University at Northridge and went on to study Interior Design at Parsons, eventually earning her NCIDQ Certificate (one of the highest accreditations in the field) as well as Professional Membership in the American Society of Interior Designers. Interior Archaeology brings a deep well of rich design knowledge to its projects, but it also keeps its finger on the pulse of the technology that makes the process more efficient and accurate. Having the capacity to realize designs in 3D is not only a powerful visualization tool for the client's benefit, it also enables communication with contractors and vendors to be incredibly precise and comprehensive. Tammy and Katherine of Interior Archaeology provided beautiful and functional designs for several rooms in our townhouse. We chose Interior Archaeology based on photos and reviews of their work over the past 20 years, and we were pleased to experience the high level of expertise, professionalism and excellent customer service that prior clients have described. They took the time to fully understand our needs, preferences and initial thoughts and combined these with their vision to create detailed plans and ideas. Our goal was to create a contemporary clean look in a comfortable and inviting home where we could relax and entertain. Tammy and Katherine achieved these goals with a set of plans and recommendations that exceeded our expectations.

Tammy and her crew came in to my listing and created an elegant and inviting environment. She managed to work under a tight schedule and helped my client attain the highest price per square foot sold in this neighbourhood. Her pieces are not your "run of the mill,everyday pieces" that you see in staged homes. Her pieces look custom and very expensive. I will definitely use Inerior Archeology again.

Tammy and her team do AMAZING work!! Quality is her hallmark!!! She is a cut above all the other interior designers and stagers in the greater Los Angeles Area!! If you are looking to stage a home before putting it on the market or if you are doing a total remodel: Tammy should be your designer of choice. I met Tammy from a staging that she did in Morrison Ranch on Shady Creek Drive. As soon as I walked in the door I was in awe of the decor. I asked the agent for her card and I contacted her right away. I was able to purchase an amazing piece of art that was used in the staging of that home!! I highly recommend Tammy and Interior Archaeology!!!

I would highly recommend Tammy and her team. I had hired a Decorator once before and didn't have favorable results. The key design elements were not available so I was left with an incomplete room that was lacking direction. Tammy and her team came in and anchored that room and helped me to redecorate my kitchen, family room and dining room into a beautiful functional and cohesive plan that completely works together and compliments each room. They did such a good job that I added the powder room too. She was there from start to finish, helping with every detail. She was patient, and respectful of my budget and my wishes to retain and incorporate several favorite pieces. I am thrilled with the results and although it was a little more expensive to go through a Decorator, it was worth every penny.

My husband and I hired Tammy Wood and her firm, Interior Archaeology to do a complete cosmetic remodel, and to furnish and accessorize our home. We completed construction in December of 2016, we could not be more pleased with the results. From the beginning, Tammy had a wonderful ability to understand our vision and bring it to life. We wanted to bring lots of natural light and a feel of casual elegance to our home, which was previously rather dark and formal. Tammy had great ideas for bringing light into various spaces, including well placed skylights and converting drab windows into french doors that flooded those dark corners with lots of natural light, and also helped unify outdoor and indoor spaces. Tammy has amazing resources for sourcing beautiful and high quality natural materials, that helped capture the design we were looking for, and also provided the unique, custom feel we wanted. Her suggestions to improve existing spaces were wonderful. She designed efficient and elegant closets and cabinets, beautiful, functional bathrooms, and included interesting design elements in every space. We are now in the process of furnishing and accessorizing the space, and again, Tammy not only has a terrific eye and great resources, she is putting them to work in helping us choose exactly the right pieces to make our home elegant, comfortable and unique. Finally, In terms of general business operation, Tammy and her staff were a pleasure to work with. They were prompt and responsive in all communications. E-mails and phone calls were returned promptly, and billing and other transactions were clear and accurate. Tammy and her staff were a wonderful asset in interfacing with our general contractor, and insuring that the design and construction process went smoothly and efficiently.

I recently hired Interior Archaeology to design and furnish a loft and recording studio for me in So Cal. Tammy and her team surpassed my every expectation. I knew that I wanted a modern moody vibe and needed a lot of sound dampening but beyond that I had little to offer. Tammy asked a lot of questions and took careful notes. She and her team measured the space and a few weeks later provided 3D sketches of my spaces with a few minor remodeling suggestions. Along with these suggestions she also proposed a compressive array of furnishings, art and window treatments which they featured in the renderings - each element was also listed on a separate document with lead-times and cost. I found this to be helpful and efficient. I liked almost everything she suggested but what really impressed me was when I pointed out the few things I didn’t connect with - it was never awkward. Tammy was always eager to incorporate my feedback and made the process effortless. Tammy went back to the drawing board several times to find elements that spoke to me and felt like a personal reflection. The original abstract watercolor of Mick Jagger that hangs over the black leather sofa in my lounge speaks to how carefully she was able to capture what I was looking to achieve. I’m happy to report that I’ve hired Tammy to accompany my real estate agent to cull through the homes he shows me - I want her input now even before I make my next purchase!

I had an amazing experience and was very much impressed by the transformation, especially the finished design and implementation. Wow. Tammy Randal Wood and her professional team are absolutely spectacular. I discovered Tammy on the Cover of Calabasas Style Magazine where there was a lengthy cover story on her design firm. Tammy is highly selective regarding projects she takes on, and I'm thankful she accepted mine (like really thankful). She was investigative and detailed in connecting with my personal style, and then she created a refined, modern, and cutting edge overall look and feel that transcended any expectations. She has a gift in her ability to take a space and literally create magic that others may envy. I'd say that yes she's an incredibly talented and gifted Interior Designer yet she also brings visionary structural design concepts beyond that of many architects. We recently completed a massive remodel in Lake Sherwood in which my company G&L Designs, built and installed all of the cabinetry designed by Tammy Randall Wood, ASID of Interior Archaeology. The designs and shop drawings that Tammy provided are some of the most creative and detailed that we’ve seen. Every detail was spelled out and it was a pleasure building her vision with a team that was available to discuss all decisions both at the planning stage as well as on site for the installation. Tammy is a designer who understands building materials, site requirements, and teamwork - which results in a finished product that is the finest in design and function. We would recommend Interior Archaeology to anyone looking for a great interior designer and look forward to working with them again and again.
