Dave did a fantastic job building our gorgeous alcove units in our living room. He was really open and collaborative- checking with us every step of the way that what he was building was in line with what we wanted. The quality and finish are fabulous - cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dave designed and constructed my wall unit and we could not be happier with how it turned out. He also organised an electrician to fit the LED lighting which tops it off. I had an idea as to what I wanted and Dave quickly helped me to decide what would look good and what wouldn't and it was his experience that made the unit turn out the way it is. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave to family and friends for any of their carpentry needs, like I have already done so. Thanks again, Dave!

I found Dave from Focal Designs very professional and efficient, the work Dave carried out for me I love it. Dave custom made units for me in what was an awkward space to start out with. The units once completed look like they have always been there and belong , exactly what I was looking for , not only creating much needed storage space they add so much character to the room.The attention to detail amazing , I highly recommend Focal Designs.

Our experience with Focal Designs was excellent. They understood exactly what we wanted when designing our handcrafted internal wall paneling, though the hall areas and landings, In addition, they made two Alcove units with spot lights. Dave did a number of jobs for us. The work included alcove units, wall beading, wall rails and radiator covers. All of the work was to the highest of standards and we are delighted with it. Dave was great to deal with. He responded promptly to any queries and he was generous with his time when we were planning the work. I contacted Dave for some units and floating shelving for either side of our fireplace, and couldn't be happier with the work he did. He walked through what I wanted, and went over all of the options I had very clearly. He went over everything before and during the build, and if there were any potential problems he explained them well and the solutions that were available. The completed work speaks for itself, the finish is really top quality, Dave works methodically and has great attention for detail. I wouldn't hesitate in asking him to do more work in our house. Can't recommend him highly enough.

I could not recommend Focal Design highly enough. Dave was a delight to deal with and was extremely helpful from design to delivery. I am extremely happy with the unit that he built, not only does it frame my television well, it also helps to complete the room. Dave was extremely professional and efficient when constructing the unit and left my apartment looking just as clean as when he had arrived.
