NR Concrete

I had my walkway and fire pit done a few months ago by them. I wasn't completely sure on what I wanted and the owner suggested doing stamped concrete. I'm so glad I did! It looks absolutely beautiful! From what I could see, they guys that came to do the job worked hard and got it done in a good amount of time. They were nice guys and some days I would make them a snack or give them something to drink. The owner is a nice Portuguese man who always made sure to stay in touch with me and let me know everything that was going on. I highly recommend them! I like to support small businesses and this is a good one.

I warn you not to use this company. They are a bunch of hacks. The finished product may look good immediately after completion, but less than 3 weeks later we already had several large cracks. They used no gravel or compaction sand. They just poured 2 inches of concrete directly on dirt. Nelson Rego promised us a product he did not deliver. He said there would be at least 6 inches of gravel but there wasn't. He said they would pour 4 inches of concrete over the 6 inches of compacted gravel. That did not happen. The long edge of my patio has less than 2 inches of concrete directly on dirt. They used a PERFORATED pipe to run downspout water under the concrete and out the side. When I questioned the use of perforated pipe he flipped out swearing at my husband and me saying that we called another company and they told us they job wasn't done right. When I told him "no, that it's just common sense not to use perforated pipe under concrete because there will always be moisture trapped under the concrete and in winter when it freezes the concrete will crack". His response was a very loud and angry "Don't tell me how to do my f***ing job, I've been doing this for 30 years". After that day he refused to take our calls and we were dealing with the workers only. Not to mention they want the majority of the money up front and then take over a month to complete the project. We're still waiting for them to come put in a step on one end of the patio because it's so much higher than the grass in that one area. They also still have to come get two huge piles of debris from the old deck demolition. They started this job on June 7 and it's still not done but they've been fully paid. On July 4th, just 2 weeks after they poured the concrete, we've already noticed several large cracks. My husband and I are actually talking about taking legal action. Save yourself a huge headache and hire a company with good reviews. They have 2 Google reviews, a 1 star and a 5 star, giving them an average of 3 stars. After hiring them and giving them a contract deposit of $1,000 we spoke to Marcus Ayala aka the office manager and also the person who gave the 5 star Google review.
