Tim at inDistressed built two nightstands for me and did a truly outstanding job. He has a wonderful personality (is super friendly), listened to what I wanted, drew up several different designs, and then executed perfected on the design that I selected. I highly recommend him.

Tim and inDistressed do incredible work! I had been looking forever for the right dining room table. I love the general look of places like Restoration Hardware, but I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, and I really wanted something that was a bit more unique and high quality. I finally decided to seek out a custom furniture maker. I found Tim and inDistressed --- they seemed like they were the right style, but they were in LA and I am in Chicago! After a few email exchanges and conversations, I decided to give it a shot. Tim was incredibly attentive and responsive. I had a rough design in mind, and he made really good suggestions on things I might want to consider to improve / tweak the idea based on both design and functional elements. InDistressed does an amazing job with color and stain. My table was a mix of metal and wood, and he worked with me to nail down the right color / finish for each. I was actually amazed by this process, particularly given the distance. I would take photos of things I had or liked, and somehow Tim and his crew were able to match it perfectly. I once worked with a local furniture maker who couldn't get as close to a color. Tim is just incredibly good with stains / color, combined with the patience to work with his clients to get to what they want. In the end, we were going back on variations of roughly the same finish, and the final stain ended up being exactly what I was envisioning. On top of all of this, inDistressed was incredibly quick. I expected a custom built table to take much longer. The final piece is beautiful. The photos here actually don't do justice! The finish is beautiful, the craftsmanship and quality is top notch and the look is exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to work with Tim and inDistressed on another piece in the future!

Stop looking... you found your man. Tim is just simply exceptionally excellent on every possible front. His work is as good as it gets, period. His personal attention and hands on approach to the consultation and design process goes above and beyond. Then factor his extremely reasonable pricing and well, like I said, slam dunk... you found your man for the job. Seriously, I waited to post this review in part because we had 1-2 other jobs in mind for him after he built our custom home office furniture, and I didn't want to fall back in his work queue if others retained him after my review. That's pretty indicative of how highly I regard Tim and inDistressed. I can't possibly give a stronger endorsement... he's just plain awesome.

I have had Tim make 3 pieces for me so far. A platform bed, a conference room table for my company and a TV shelf. Just recently he made me an additional piece for the TV shelf to accommodate a soundbar and Apple TV. Tim always brings great creativity to his designs. The work is very high quality with attention paid to all the details. I would highly recommend him for any custom furniture projects you may have.

As an interior designer I am contantly inspecting furniture. The quality and workmanship of Indestressed designs are impeccable! You can clearly see the love and care that goes into each piece.

InDistressed has built two projects for us. The first was the Serpentine Bookcase which is a well designed shelving system that we use to display our collection of wood fired ceramics. The design of the bookcase is quite sculptural in its own right. The second project was a coffee table that Tim made from a picture we sent him. His ingenuity made this project a success as he fabricated several of the pieces needed to make the design work. Tim is a consummate professional, easy to work with and concise timely communications. We highly recommend him to anybody with a special project that requires design skills coupled with mechanical genius.
