We hired Ian five years ago to do a major remodel, which included the master bathroom, master bedroom and the kitchen. I hired Ian Forsberg Contractor, Inc. to add a wrap around porch to my adobe home and to create a front entryway garden on what was originally just a sage field. Not only did the job get finished on time, and within budget, but his attention to detail and his consideration to every nuance that could potentially be an issue in years to come was addressed before the project began. Our home is a converted 125 year-old adobe church in Town of Taos, NM. It needs a lot of attention to keep it structurally sound and attractive, since it is a "contributing" structure in the historic district. Over the years we have had several contractors work on our house with varying results. Recently we needed to have several problems left by previous contractors corrected. When a rebuild of a portal was botched in 2012, we decided to engage one of the best contractors by reputation in the area to do the job properly. And so we began working with Ian Forsberg in mid-2013. Initially he spent many hours with us answering our questions and providing expert guidance. He also asked an consultant on old adobe buildings to consult on our house; and we found that very helpful and reassuring. We quickly learned that Ian has an excellent sense of aesthetics including an unusually good eye for color matching. He and his crew spent several weeks in the summer of 2014 working on our house, and Ian often pitched in. We were thoroughly pleased with the work they all did. And we really enjoyed Ian and his crew, all of whom worked well together. We added many "little" requests for improvements and repairs as the work progressed, and Ian never became flustered with this. He is amazingly even tempered and easy to get along with. And the job came in at the estimate. His subcontractors were also excellent, and we were especially impressed by the crew who redid the plaster exterior of our old church. Ian took over our half finished build that was a complete mess. He approached the situation intelligently, positively, and was oriented towards problem solving. He took over a difficult situation and applied himself, and we ended up with a beautifully functioning house. We just spent our first christmas there and it works perfectly for us in regards to energy use and practical needs. He is a perfectionist and in my opinion that is a good thing in a contractor. During the build we were not on site and we could trust him thoroughly. His integrity was highly appreciated.
