Hyde Evans Design is an award winning interior design firm with offices in Seattle and Palm Springs. The firm's work has been published in local and National Home Design Publications. They were also the recipient of two first place awards in the recent Northwest Design show, First Place Kitchen Design and First Place Bath Design. Hyde Evans Design has worked on projects primarily in the Greater Seattle area and Palm Springs, California, but also thru-out the US and internationally, as well. They specializes in high-end residential home and office interior design and interior architecture. They pride themselves on their ability to work in very diverse styles, everything from ultra contemporary to historically accurate European Traditional. Barbara and the HED crew were a pleasure to work with on our project. All aspects of the design process were managed with professionalism and care. Under HED's guidance we were encouraged to imagine a home that would reflect not only our taste and style today but would feel timeless and age well. HED worked wonders in my tiny urban apartment. My space is both beautiful and livable due to their fabulous design work. I appreciated the efficiency of the business office, as well. My project stayed within budget and was completed quickly.

Our family (w/ two young children) has used Hyde Evans Design for our main home and a vacation home in the San Juan islands. Barbara and her team did an outstanding job for us on both homes. Our homes are completely different styles with one being a craftsman and the other a Northwest contemporary; they both turned out beautiful as Barbara’s designs “fit” the style of each home. Barbara listened to our goals and likes/dislikes and then came up with great ideas that were kid friendly and met our budget. She also presented numerous different options for us to choose from and was not afraid to let us know if something we liked would not be a good choice (conflicting style, not kid friendly, durability issue, etc.). After going through multiple remodels my wife and I agree that Barbara’s services are a key requirement to have a truly finished home and will definitely use her for any future projects.

I employed Hyde Evans Design a few years ago to do a complete remodel and furnishing of a vacation condo and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome and the experience of dealing with Barbara and her professional team. I was kept continually informed of project status and always provided with various cost options around their design recommendations. They also provided many innovative design solutions that dramatically improved the livability and functionality of my space. I will definitely employ them again for my future projects.

Unfortunately, our family had a bad experience using Hyde Evans for our remodel. We found Barbara to be condescending with her feedback (i.e. telling us that the suggestion that our contractor and I were making about keeping a wall up “would make the space trailer-park-like”. I felt very uncomfortable to give my feedback. Also, when we pushed back on charges we felt mislead on, we contacted by their lawyer who issued a lien on our house. They would not budge at all on project costs we felt mislead on. These are a few of our several reasons. So upsetting and stressful. Every other vendor (contractor, roofer, etc) on our remodel has been five stars. This is actually the first review I’ve ever left on a vendor. It was just such an upsetting experience.

We are truly sorry our relationship ended in this fashion. We take pride in working collaboratively to incorporate each client’s taste and budget for each project. Your timeline was aggressive and our office spent nights, weekends and holidays to meet those deadlines, so it was unfortunate that our bills went unpaid after we completed the work and our designs were being used in the construction of your home.

The project comprised a nearly total renovation of the master bedroom, office and bath. The designer, Barbara Hyde Evans, designed a beautiful, comfortable, nicely appointed and completely functional space. The designer, as well as her staff, were very accommodating to my tastes and were always respectful of timelines. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Hyde Evans Design has done work for us over the past 20 years. Ranging from bedrooms, bathrooms, and most recently they have designed our kitchen. They are creative, professional and easy to work with. Barbara has a flair for what I would call "sophisticated and fun," with an eye for detail. She designed our master bedroom and bathroom 7 years ago and it is still my favorite room in our home. She designed a a very small powder room for us and all I said to her was: "surprise me." Seriously, two words. She did and it's beautiful. I would highly recommend Hyde Evans Design.

I recently remodeled the entire main floor of my view home on the Magnolia Bluff. I didn't engage Hyde Evans design until the end of the project, when I had numerous loose ends to tie up. Exhausted by the remodel and all of the choices, I started to give up. I had limited lighting, furniture, mirrors, and the list goes on. My house was livable, but not functional. Barbara came in and took control of the project knowing I was on a budget. She is organized and really pays attention to my style. She doesn't overwhelm me with options and continues to drive decisions forward. Her taste is impeccable. My only regret is that I wish I would've engaged her sooner.

Professionalism and creativity are a combination that are hard to come by, but HED does amazing work. So unique, and always on target with both time and expense. Over many years Hyde Evans Design has helped with many different decorating decisions. I've mainly used them on a consulting basis but they have always treated me like a top client. I have also had the opportunity to see many of her completed homes. Barbara and her amazing staff, including Amy and Benni, are easy to work with, respectful, and above all talented. They get to know your personal style and then they help you produce it perfectly. Barbara's input is always spot on. We worked with Barbara Hyde Evans and her team on on a vacation property and guest house in the Midwest. The ethos of the vacation property was purposefully a departure from the main residence. Barbara, Amy and the team did an amazing job capturing the clean, modern interior design for the property while still adding the touches that gave the home a personality all its own but also retained the familiarity of the main residence. We continue to use them on other projects as they arise and always look forward to the creative ideas they bring to the table. I would highly recommend them.

Barbara Hyde Evans was our designer for our home. She was amazing, fun and clear in her quest to do the best for us and for achieving the perfect result for our home. Working with her over two years was a great experience for our entire family. We would not have changed one thing about our relationship, her work ethic, the excellence of her work or the final result, which was stunning.
