My husband and I had been talking about remodeling our kitchen for at least 15 of the last 20 years. When we built our house 20 yrs. ago, we changed the standard design, which called for a peninsula, and instead put in a kitchen island. No one told us at the time that the kitchen was really too narrow to allow two people to comfortably pass by each other with an island in the middle. So we pretty much complained after every family gettogether for the last 20 years but really didn't know where to begin with a remodel. Both my husband and I work full-time, with very long days, so just the thought of finding time to make appointments with different designers and decorators with various stores and contractors exhausted us. I needed someone to come to our home, sit down with us, allow us to explain our ideas, make insightful recommendations, and then coordinate everything for us thereafter. Don't believe such a person exists? Well she does, and her name is Pat Green of Hudson Valley Design. Pat is there to do as much or as little as you need. For us, she pretty much did the "much." She paired us with and excellent contractor Bennett Contracting, scheduled our appointments and accompanied us to select our cabinets and related fixtures, coordinated our meeting with the flooring wholesaler, set up appointments and helped us pick out quartzite countertops, new appliances, and tile. Pat made sure everyone and everything arrived on time and that if we had any problems or questions she was always available to help. Our kitchen is tasteful and beautiful, as is Pat.

We’ve worked with a number of interior designers over the years, but we particularly loved Pat’s great eye for color and her ability to listen to my husband and me and steer us in the right direction. Pat helped us navigate the differences my husband and I had in our style preferences and color choices while also making suggestions to stay within our budget. Pat helped with paint color choices throughout our new home, bathroom trim selection, living room furniture layout, and bedroom curtain selection. Pat communicated consistently and professionally and charged very reasonable prices for her services. Pat Green at Hudson Valley Design has helped us over many years. Our first project with HVD was a consultation where she helped us transform our space using our existing furnishings and accessories. The space made more sense when we followed her suggestions. We were so grateful. Years later we relied on Pat again to help us pick colors when we needed to paint--her color choices resulted in creating a wonderful contemporary look and calm and welcoming feel. And recently, in our new home, she consulted on color again, as well as on bedroom and basement room designs. Pat is easy and fun to work with, has a great eye and moves at the speed of the client...giving space for decisions as needed (it takes me a long time to act), and is available with advice and recommendations in an ongoing way. Pat has become a "friend in the business!"

She created a modern kitchen that is compatible with our historic home. Her design maximized storage and improved the functionality of our relatively small spaces. I am just delighted with my gorgeous remodeled bath. Pat of Hudson Valley Design had some great suggestions to complement my original ideas. She was able to use her expertise and vision to bring together a fine outcome. She "got" my sensibility and pulled me back to myself when I sometimes went for something outside my comfort zone. This saved me from a couple of mistakes! She worked easily and well with my builder. And on top of all this, she is easy and fun to work with. A fine professional with excellent taste.

We are thrilled with the design services that Pat at HV Design has provided to us! We moved into a new house and sought Pat's help to turn it into a home. We were drawn to Pat's tasteful and minimalistic style that we noticed from her portfolio of work. Pat designed a wonderful paint color scheme for each room, taking into account our open floor plan, the purpose for each room, and each family member's personality. She also guided us in the selection of new window coverings, helped us make use of our existing furnishings, and shopped with us to find pieces that we were missing. Shopping with Pat was fun and productive, and she helped us find incredible furnishings that we never would have found on our own. Pat is: -Punctual -Accessible -Responsive -Respectful of our budget We especially appreciate how Pat listened to what we wanted our final design to feel like and then helped us execute that vision. I’m very pleased I called Pat Green to decorate my new home. From the beginning I felt I was dealing with an experienced designer/decorator which made me at ease. Pat chose the colors for my walls and ceilings, chose the furniture and window dressing, all on a less than ideal budget! I highly recommend Pat if your looking for the best.

We felt such a huge sense of relief when we met Pat Green. I knew from the first moments on the phone that she "got us." We were seeking help for our family room and we had a limited budget of approximately $10,000. Pat stretched our dollars farther than we ever thought possible and gave us the most beautiful, restful, and tranquil room. She came to the house, helped us assess what we could/should do, and helped us prioritize our dollars. In the end, we chose to spend additional money on furniture and managed to surprise Pat with our purchases! Pat was warm, gracious, and made working together a pleasure. My husband and I sometimes have divergent tastes (it's like a marriage between Eileen Fisher and Lilly Pulitzer) and Pat skillfully navigated a pathway to suit us both. Pat was hands-on and gracious with her viewpoints. She educated and helped steer us toward furniture and colors that we would never have found ourselves. She found ways to incorporate many of our existing pieces in new locations and even helped us hang artwork. She was conscious of how we like to live, work, and play and included our large Newfoundland into the design and layout. We consider Pat to be a great friend who just happens to have a fabulous eye. We would give 10 stars if possible - and we look forward to working with Pat more over the years. Highly recommend!

Pat transformed not only my 80's bathroom into a beautifully modern bathroom, but also updated the remainder of my bedroom suite through the use of color. While the bathroom floor was redone using a gray/white marble tile, the remainder of the bedroom suite was revised by installing a gorgeous darker stained mahogany floor. The wall color transitioned beautifully throughout the bedroom suite. Pat's knowledge and professionalism refashioned my entire bedroom suite.
